Public health leaders and school officials agree: the science is clear that there are safe ways for our students to return to the classroom. The benefits of in-person learning far outweigh the risks for students in our community. This is why our Bay Area Health Officers support opening schools for full time in-person instruction for all grades in Fall 2021.

The CAP team is excited to share with our ambassadors and community an excellent, student-led educational video series informing students on immunity, COVID-19, and vaccines. There are 6 episodes, each covering DNA, protein synthesis, viruses, immune system, COVID, and vaccines. The group of educators and students feel that understanding the background science of how our bodies work and fight diseases will help color and explain how COVID affects us and how vaccines help to fight the virus.
We'll be posting the rest of the series throughout the rest of May. Please share them with your daughters, sons, nieces, nephews, and anyone else you think may be interested. Thank you!

Case rates have declined to some of their lowest levels at any point in the pandemic, and test positivity rates have hit an all-time low. The county’s vaccination rates are also among the very highest in the nation, as more than 75% of county residents 16 and older have received at least one dose of vaccine. On Wednesday, the county will enter the least restrictive “Yellow Tier” under the State’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy (https://covid19.ca.gov/safer-economy/).
