For the last 10 years Rodriguez has focused on capturing and instilling aesthetic practices that express place attachment which refer to people who are minorities in their own homeland, who have suffered oppression in the context of colonial conquest, and who view their political situation in the context of neo-colonialism.
Through the visual manifestation of ancestral deities and imagery, Rodriquez is able to summon the viewers to broaden their perspectives to a more holistic notion of aesthetic experience, one that emphasizes a more dynamic artistic expression of worldview.
