What do scriptures really mean that instructs to "fear God"?

This is a bad translation. Really what it refers to is fearing to do anything that's going to harm yourself or others, fear of effing up your life, fear of causing discord in your community and weakening your unity and thereby making your community vulnerable to being conquered and subjugated by wicked people. These are all things we SHOULD be afraid of doing, just like we SHOULD be afraid of jumping off of a cliff ~ the healthy fear that keeps us alive and thriving.

The English translation of the Bible always makes things out to be that we should follow God's Word because we're supposed to just obey and do what we're told ~ total slavery mentality language. Really, there are reasons behind the natural laws of creation, and our Source of Life only just wants to keep us from suffering in this physical world of cause and effect where we have free will. Following the natural laws of creation creates life and unity and really all they are, are the ABCs of living in love, as love is the only law ~ don't harm anyone, anything, or yourself. Don't lie, don't steal, don't covet, etc., etc., all these things are the foundation of a united community.

We definitely need to become an unconquerable people in these times especially. We SHOULD fear being conquered and subjugated, as there are always those in this realm who want to control everything and everyone. The way we avoid that is through unity. Unity is what makes us strong. There can be no unity when we are lying, stealing, and cheating each other. We are easily subjugated when we engage in such selfish behaviors.

If we follow the natural laws of creation, we will stay in the currents of creation, and all those who do not do that will eventually fall into the torrents of destruction, so we need not fear any wicked people who seek to conquer us. We only need to fear ourselves ~ our own actions, words, and thoughts, to the degree that we fear to be anything but upright, never causing harm to others, ourselves, or our communities ~ fear to cause harm. It's the way nature works, and as mighty as humans like to think themselves to be, no one can keep the sun from rising, or keep fire from burning, or keep ice from being cold. Nature works how it works. Through knowledge, wisdom, and understanding, we can work WITH nature to achieve the results that we want.

Those who try and override nature may be able to manipulate it temporarily, but there will always be a price to pay as nature will always self-correct. We are a part of nature. As I say in one of my songs, the natural laws of creation are not limitations, they are paths to higher elevations.

Live in love and there is nothing to fear except falling out of that love frequency due to our own selfish actions, words, or thoughts. No one is perfect, and we all make mistakes, but practice makes perfect, and the more we practice love, the better we get at it.

Love Jah and fear to do wrong. That's what it really means.

A Song of Ascent – rise up, Jah people!

Jah, remember I, and all my afflictions:

How I pledged to Jah, and vowed unto the mighty God of I & I ancestors;

Surely I will not go into the sanctuary of my house, nor get into my bed;

I will not give sleep to my eyes, nor slumber to my eyelids,

Until I find out a place for Jah, a sacred dwelling place for I & I to cultivate connection with the Source of I & I life.

Look, I & I recognized the fruitfulness of nature: I & I found it in the fields of the forest.

I & I will go into Jah tabernacles: I & I will meditate and pray in devotion, giving reverence, adoration, thanks, and praise at Jah footstool.

Arise, O Jah, into your dwelling place and the sanctuary of Jah strength.

Let Jah spiritual teachers be clothed with righteousness; and let Jah saints shout for joy.

For I, Jah servant's sake, do not turn away the face of the I appointed.

Jah has sworn in truth unto I; Jah will not go back on Jah word; Of the fruit of the I body will I raise up to the heights of creation.

If I & I children will remain devoted to the evident demonstration of Jah natural laws of creation that Jah shall teach them, their children shall also rise up to the heights of creation for evermore.

For Jah has chosen Zion, which in Sanskrit is called Sach Kand; Jah has desired it for Jah habitation.

This is where Jah resides for ever: here will Jah dwell; for Jah has desired it.

Jah will bless devotees with abundance: Jah will satisfy the poor with sustenance.

Jah will also clothe true spiritual teachers with salvation: and saints shall shout aloud for joy.

From there will Jah make the legacy of Jah devotees to bud: Jah has established a guiding light for those devotees blessed by Jah.

Their enemies will Jah clothe with shame: but upon themselves shall Jah honor and glory flourish.

A Psalm of David

Jah, who shall stay in the tabernacle of the I creation? who shall dwell in the I sacred hillsides and rise up to higher planes?

They that walk uprightly and work righteousness, and who speak the truth in their heart.

They that do not use their tongues to talk maliciously about others behind their backs, nor who do evil and cause harm to those around them, nor berate others around them.

They in whose eyes a vile, abusive person is looked down upon; but they honor them that love Jah and fear to do wrong by causing harm. They that truthfully keep their promises, even at their own cost, and change not what they have agreed to.

They that do not use their money take advantage of others, nor take reward against the innocent. They that do not do these harmful things, and who instead walk uprightly and work righteousness, shall never be shaken.

A Psalm of David ~
Jah, I cry unto the I (you): make haste unto I; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto the I.
Let my prayer be set forth before the I AS incense; AND the lifting up of my hands AS the evening sacrifice.

Set a watch, Oh Jah, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.
Incline not my heart to ANY harmful thing, to practice wicked works with men and women that work outiquity (iniquity): and let I not eat of their dainty fruits.

Let the righteous smite I; IT SHALL BE a kindness: and let them reprove I; IT SHALL BE an excellent oil, WHICH shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also SHALL BE for them in their calamities.
When their judges are overthrown in stony places, they shall hear my words; for they are sweet.

I & I (Our) bones are scattered at the grave's mouth, as when one cuts and cleaves WOOD upon the earth.
But my eyes ARE unto the I, Oh God the Lord Jah: in the I is my trust; leave not my soul destitute.
Keep I from the snares WHICH they have laid for I, and the gins of the workers of outiquity.
Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I escape with all.

A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance ~
Oh Jah, rebuke I not in the I (your) disapproval: neither chasten I in the I hot displeasure.
For arrows stick fast in I, and I am pressed sore.
THERE IS no soundness in my flesh because of the I indignation; neither IS THERE ANY rest in my bones because of the wrong I have done.
For my outiquities (iniquities) are gone over my head: as a heavy burden they are too heavy for I.
My wounds stink AND are corrupt because of my foolishness.

I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.
For my loins are filled with a loathsome DISEASE: and THERE IS no soundness in my flesh.
I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.

Jah, all my desire IS before the I (you): and my groaning is not hid from the I.
My heart pants, my strength fails I: as for the light of my eyes, it also is gone from I.
My lover and my friends stand aloof from I sorely; and my kinsmen stand afar off.
They also that seek after my life lay snares FOR I: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.
But I, as a deaf PERSON, heard not; and I WAS as a dumb person THAT opens not their mouth.
Thus I was as a person that hears not, and in whose mouth ARE no reproofs.

For in the I, Oh Jah, do I hope: the I will hear, Oh Jah my God.
For I said, HEAR I, unless OTHERWISE they should rejoice over I: when my foot slips, they magnify THEMSELVES against I.
For I AM ready to halt, and my sorrow IS itinually (continually) before I.
For I will declare my outiquity; I will be sorry for my wrong doing.
But my enemies ARE lively, AND they are strong: and they that hate I wrongfully are multiplied.
They also that render evil for good are my adversaries; because I follow THE THING THAT good IS.
Forsake I not, Oh Jah: Oh my God, be not far from I.
Make haste to help I, Oh Jah my salvation.

Praise Jah. Praise oh servants of Jah, praise the name of Jah.
Blessed be the name of Jah from this time forth and for evermore.
From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same Jah name IS to be praised.
Jah IS high above all nations, AND Jah glory above the heavens.

Who IS like unto Jah I & I (our) God, who dwells on high,
Who humbles THEIR SELF to behold THE THINGS THAT ARE in heaven, and in the earth!
Jah raises up the poor out of the dust, AND lifts the needy out of the dunghill;
That Jah may set THEM with princes and princesses, EVEN with the princes and princesses of Jah people.
Jah makes the barren woman to keep house, AND TO BE a joyful mother of children. Praise Jah.

To the chief Musician upon The Land of the Morning, A Psalm of David ~
My God, my God, why have the I (you) forsaken I? WHY ARE THE I SO far from helping I, AND FROM the words of my roaring?
Oh my God, I cry in the daytime, but it appears that the I attends not; and in the night season, and am not silent.

But the I ARE hola (holy), OH THE I that inhabits the praises of I & I (our) people.
I & I mothers and fathers trusted in the I: they trusted, and the I did deliver them.
They cried unto the I, and were delivered: they trusted in the I, and were not confounded.
But I AM a worm, and no human; a reproach of men & women, and despised of the people.
All they that see I laugh I to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, SAYING,
The I trusted on Jah THAT Jah would deliver the I: let Jah deliver the I, seeing Jah delighted in the I.

But the I ARE the one that took I out of the womb: the I did make I hope WHEN I WAS upon my mother's breasts.
I was cast upon the I from the womb: the I ARE my God from my mother's belly.
Be not far from I, for trouble IS near; for THERE IS none to help.
Many bulls have compassed I: strong BULLS of Bashan have beset I round.
They gaped upon I WITH their mouths, AS a ravening and a roaring lion.
I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
My strength is dried up like a broken piece of pottery; and my tongue cleaves to my jaws; I have been brought into the dust of death.
For dogs have surrounded I: the assembly of the wicked have enclosed I: they pierced my hands and my feet.
I may tell all my bones: they look AND stare upon I.
They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.
But be not far from I, Oh Jah: Oh my strength, haste to help I.
Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.
Save I from the lion's mouth: for the I has heard I from the horns of the unicorns.

I will declare the I name unto my brethren and sistren: in the midst of the multitude will I praise the I.
The I that love Jah and fear to do wrong, praise Jah; all the seed of I & I fathers, glorify Jah; and love Jah, fear to do wrong, all the seed of I & I people.
For Jah has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither has Jah hid Jah face from them; but when they cried unto Jah, Jah heard.
My praise SHALL BE of the I in the great multitude: I will pay my vows before them that love Jah and fear to do wrong.

The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise Jah that seek Jah: the I heart shall live for ever.
All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto Jah: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before the I.
For the earth BELONGS to Jah: and Jah IS the governor among the nations.
All THEY THAT BE flourishing upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before Jah: none can keep alive their own soul.
A seed shall serve Jah; it shall be accounted to Jah for a generation.
They shall come, and shall declare Jah righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that Jah has done THIS.

To the chief Musician upon Witness of Natural Laws, A Psalm of Asaph ~
Give ear, Oh Shepherd of I & I (our) people, the I (you) that led I & I ancestors like a flock; the I that dwells BETWEEN the cherubims, shine forth.
Before I & I ancestors, stir up the I (your) strength, and come AND save I & I (us).
Turn I & I again, Oh Jah, and cause the I face to shine; and I & I (we) shall be saved.

Oh Lord God of multitudes, how long will the I be displeased and unsympathetic with the prayer of the I people?
They are fed with the bread of tears, and given tears to drink in great measure.
I & I are a strife unto I & I neighbors: and I & I enemies laugh among themselves.
Turn I & I again, Oh God of multitudes, and cause the I face to shine; and I & I shall be saved.

The I has brought a vine out of the land: the I has cast out the heathen, and planted it.
The I prepared ROOM before it, and did cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.
The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof WERE LIKE the goodly cedars.
She sent her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river.
Why THEN are I & I hedges broken down, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her?
The boar out of the wood does waste it, and the wild beast of the field does devour it.
Return, I & I beseech the I, Oh God of multitudes: look down from the heavens, and behold, and visit this vine;
And the vineyard which the I right hand has planted, and the branch THAT the I made strong for the I self.
IT IS burned with fire, IT IS cut down: they perish.

Let the I hand be upon the men and women of the I right hand, upon the sons and daughters of man WHOM the I made strong for the I self.
So will not I & I go back from the I: quicken I & I, and I & I will call upon the I name.
Turn I & I again, Oh Lord God of multitudes, cause the I face to shine; and I & I shall be saved.

A PSALM of David ~
Jah IS my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? Jah IS the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
When the wicked, EVEN my enemies and my foes, came upon I to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
Though a multitude should encamp against I, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against I, in this WILL I BE ifident (confident).

One THING have I desired of Jah, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of Jah all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of Jah, and to inquire in Jah temple.
For in the time of trouble Jah shall hide I in Jah pavilion: in the secret of Jah tabernacle shall Jah hide I; Jah shall set I up upon a rock.
And now shall my head be lifted up above my enemies round about I: therefore will I offer in Jah tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yes I, I will sing praises unto Jah.

Hear, Oh Jah, WHEN I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon I, and answer I.
WHEN THE I (YOU) SAID, Seek my face; my heart said unto the I, The I (Your) face, Jah, will I seek.
Hide not the I face FAR from I; put not the I servant away in displeasure: the I have been my help; leave I not, neither forsake I, Oh God of my salvation.

When my father and my mother forsake I, then Jah will take I up.

Teach I the I way, Oh Jah, and lead I in a plain path, because of my enemies.
Deliver I not over unto the will of my enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against I, and such as breathe out cruelty.
I HAD FAINTED, unless I had believed to see the goodness of Jah in the land of the living.

Wait on Jah: be of good courage, and Jah shall strengthen the I heart: wait, I say, on Jah.

To the chief Musician of Stringed Instruments, for Instruction and Overstanding (Understanding), A PSALM of David ~
Give ear to my prayer, Oh Jah; and hide not the I (your) self from my supplication.
Attend unto I, and hear I: I mourn in my complaint, and make a noise;
Because of the voice of the enemy, because of the downpression (oppression) of the wicked: for they cast outiquity (iniquity) upon I, and in wrath they hate I.
My heart is sore pained within I: and the terrors of death are fallen upon I.
Fearfulness and trembling are come upon I, and horror has overwhelmed I.
And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! FOR THEN would I fly away, and be at rest.
Look, THEN would I wander off, AND remain in the wilderness. Selah.
I would hasten my escape from the windy storm AND tempest.

Destroy, Oh Jah, AND divide their tongues: for I have seen violence and strife in the city.
Day and night they go about it upon the walls thereof: mischief also and sorrow ARE in the midst of it.
Wickedness IS in the midst thereof: deceit and guile depart not from its streets.

For IT WAS not an enemy THAT reproached I; then I could have endured IT: neither WAS IT they that hated I THAT did magnify THEIR SELF against I; then I would have hid myself from them:
But IT WAS the I, one who is my equal, my guide, and my acquaintance.
We took sweet counsel together, AND walked unto the house of Jah in company.
Let their end seize upon them, AND let them go down quick into the burning of their karma: for wickedness and harm IS in their dwellings, AND among them.

As for I, I will call upon Jah; and Jah shall save I.
Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and Jah shall hear my voice.
Jah has delivered my soul in peace from the battle THAT WAS against I: for there were many with I.
Jah shall hear, and they shall be afflicted, even that, that abides of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not to do wrong, nor do they love Jah.
They have put forth their hands against such that be at peace with them: they have broken their covenant.
THE WORDS of their mouths were smoother than butter, but war WAS in their hearts: their words were softer than oil, yet WERE they drawn swords.

Cast the I (your) burden upon Jah, and Jah shall sustain the I (you): Jah shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
But the I, Oh Jah, shall bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful persons shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in the I.

A Psalm of David ~
Jah, who shall abide in the I (your) tabernacle? who shall dwell in the I hola (holy) hill?
They that walk uprightly, and work righteousness, and speak the truth in their heart.
THEY THAT backbite not with their tongue, nor does evil to their neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against their neighbor.
In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but they honor them that love Jah and fear to do wrong. THEY THAT swear to THEIR OWN hurt (that will tell the truth even if they may come to harm from it), and changes not.
THEY THAT puts not out their money to usury, nor takes reward against the innocent. They that do these THINGS shall never be moved.

Praise Jah. Praise the name of Jah; praise JAH, Oh servants of Jah.
The I (You) that stand in the house of Jah, in the courts of the house of I & I (our) God,
Praise Jah; for Jah IS good: sing praises unto Jah name; for IT IS pleasant.
For Jah has chosen sons and daughters unto Jah, and I & I people for Jah peculiar treasure.

Know that Jah IS great, and THAT I & I Lord IS above all gods.
Whatsoever Jah pleases, THAT did Jah in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.
Jah causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; Jah makes lightnings for the rain; Jah brings the wind out of the treasures.
Who smote the firstborn of the downpressors (oppressors), both of man and beast.
WHO sent tokens and wonders into the midst of the I, Oh downpressors, upon your leader, and upon all his servants.
