Bike to School Day is Wednesday, May 3. This is the perfect opportunity to do a helmet fit test with your kids! Here's how in three simple steps:
1. Eyes: Put the helmet on your head. Look up. You should see the bottom rim of the helmet.
2. Ears: Make sure the straps form a "V" under the ears when buckled. The straps should be a little tight but comfortable.
3. Mouth: Open your mouth as wide as you can. Does the helmet hug your head? If not, tighten the strap.
Voila, you're done! Something as simple as wearing a helmet (properly!) can make a big difference in keeping your child safe. 🚴🏿

It is not recommended to ride your bike at night. However, if it is necessary, it is best to make yourself very visible and more easily seen by others by doing the following:
1. Always remember to wear fluorescent, bright colored clothing from head to toe;
2. Use a white bike light on the front, and red rear reflectors on the back;
3. Place reflectors on the wheels of your bicycle;
4. Add a bike lights to your helmets; and
5. Always wear your helmet!
When taking those late night walks, you should always wear reflective clothing and take along a flashlight! Drivers need to see you! Remember to BE SAFE, BE BRIGHT, BE SEEN!
