Yes! I love that this is becoming a part of the conversation lately. It is much needed!

Burnt out ≠ success.

👉🏼 do you believe that the only way to succeed in your business is if you work crazy amounts of hours per day, just to feel organised?

🛑 stop 🛑

That is not the truth.

You don’t need to work that hard and you definitely don’t need to do it all by yourself.

You shouldn’t have to be putting in the 12 / 13 / 14 hour days just to feel confident that you can get a proper nights sleep, or even a day off 🤭

We can't help others fill up their tank if ours is empty.

Self-care is a hot topic lately, and frankly is something that we can very easily forget to do.

Run-down and pulled in 50 different directions all day long: no wonder we're so exhausted by the end of the day...

One thing I have added to my wake-up routine is reciting mantras when I first wake up. (Which has kind of become a reflex at this point!)

It takes literally 60 seconds and has helped me keep my mindset aligned and has improved my outlook dramatically.

We can't always take bubble baths or go get a massage (though now that I mention it - it does sound nice).

But taking literally ONE minute each morning to share some kind words of encouragement with ourselves, is something that we all deserve.

So take a moment for yourself today. Whether it is this quote, or something different, validate your worthiness.

Because you have value, and you are valid.

We are mostly settled and I am back up and running.

Ceiling collapse. Woke up in a strange hotel. Spilled my coffee on my lap while driving to check on the apartment. Figured I’d treat myself to a rare coffee house outing and a sweet drink ❤️

If I work with a Virtual Assistant how will I know what they are doing???

Here I talk about how I use Asana (web-based application for project management) to organize the tasks and project I complete for my clients.

Not only does this keep track of ongoing projects and track tasks, but it also allows us to keep an open line of communication that actually increases efficiency and productivity!

Working as a team it’s important to have clear and open communication to make sure things are going according to plan. Using Asana allows us to have that clear communication, without important information getting lost in the "inbox shuffle".

Asana is just one of the many tools that I use to help my clinics run more smoothly and continue to grow!

Feeling the Burnout?

Here's a pretty good article on burnout and self-care for mental health providers I wanted to share with everyone.

I'm sure we are all aware of how draining it can be to work in mental health, but I thought this article did a good job of spelling out the factors that can affect burnout, how those factors change over the course of your career, questions to ask about how your current state of self-care is going, and additionally some ideas to integrate into your life.

Part of me wishes that there were a few more concrete examples of self-care activities, but those are also plentiful elsewhere. I'll share those as well in a different post.

This is not talked about enough!

Relational stress. Compassion fatigue. Caregiver burnout. There is almost always one, if not more, present in the lives of the parents I work with. And it makes sense to me why they'd be experiencing that level of emotional distress. No matter how amazing our kids are (and they are amazing!), parenting kids with brain-based differences and challenging behavioral symptoms takes its toll. There is no denying that. It's not a reflection of the amount of love we have for them, it is a reflection of the intensity of parenting they require.
