At For The Children, we believe in the possibility of transforming the lives of children growing up in foster care. We see it happen every year through our FTC chapters across the country and around the world. We are honored to train and equip these chapters in the TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention) therapeutic method to help them best serve our kiddos. Seeing a child abandon themselves to play is a gift, and helping a child overcome relational trauma through play is a true gift from God. At our Royal Family KIDS Camp and Mentoring programs, children living in foster care are able to relax and have fun with their counselors and peers. The For The Children story began in 1985 when a pastor in Costa Mesa, CA organized a weeklong summer camp for 37 children in the foster care system. After only five days, the effect on the children was incredible. It was clear that they could learn to trust adults again and relate to them in much healthier ways. By 2018, our chapters were serving almost 10,000 children in 43 states and 6 countries. In 2024, we plan to keep growing our chapters and presence.
