Admittedly, I have a passion for taking ordinary objects and making them “extra”. Cause who couldn’t use a little extra-ordinary in their lives? 😊

What dreams may come… one of my happy places is sitting, sketching, imagining what functional forms may come to soon be unearthed in the shop. I find wonder in the process of visualizing, imagining and eventually realizing new shapes and forms. This process disrupts the tyranny of monotony and frustrates boredom. May we each press into the wonder of imagination and awe available in each new day.

At this age (stage?), I’m not much of one for New Year’s resolutions. Past years have taught me how very *not* in control of outcomes I actually am. Much of life has occurred as a series of crisis and graces— with stretches of mundane fit in between. Each season has offered its gifts and challenges. Yet I often find I’m not much able to receive the gifts of the current season if I’m set on forcing it into a predetermined mold. And so I offer this year up much like I hope to offer up all of my years— openhanded— expectant of beauty but open hearted to what form that beauty may take.

What the studio looks like these days ❤️

Lately most of my “studio days” have turned into “caretaking days”. Although I’ll always wrestle with the pull towards desired productivity, if I can step back and survey the landscape, my greatest creations are the two standing beside me.

To all moms everywhere juggling creativity and caretaking (and, let’s be honest, so much better), you are doing THE work. The good good work ❤️
