인터뷰 요청으로 간단한 서면 인터뷰를 진행하는 과정에서 지난 10년 동안의 미국에서의 삶을 돌아보게 되었습니다. 그 시기는 치열하고 열정적이었으며, 그 속에서 기쁨을 발견했습니다. 이런 이유로 이 도입부가 마음에 들게 느껴집니다.

이키가이(生きがい, IKIGAI)를 아시나요? 삶을 뜻하는 이키(生き)와 가치를 나타내는 가이(がい)를 합성한 일본어로 ‘삶의 보람’을 나타내는 말입니다. ... 커리어를 정할 때의 틀로도 많이 이용되죠. 그런데 원래 ‘이키가이’의 이키(生き)는 일생일대의 의미라는 ‘인생'보다는 ‘일상의 삶’의 의미에 더 가깝다고 합니다. 반드시 직업과 연결되는 개념도 아니고요. 오히려 일상의 사소한 것들에서 기쁨을 발견하고 그것을 누리며 사는 삶의 철학인 것이죠. (다양한 직업의 세계 - 4편, SIMPLESTEPS)

Through the process of conducting a brief written interview in response to the interview request, I found myself reflecting on the past 10 years of life in the United States. It was a challenging and passionate period, and within it, I discovered joy. That's why I find this introduction particularly resonant.

Do you know the term 'Ikigai' (生きがい, IKIGAI)? It's a Japanese word combining 'Ikiru' (生きる), meaning life, and 'G*i' (がい), representing value, to convey the concept of 'the meaning of life.' ... It's often utilized as a framework for determining one's career path. However, the 'Ikiru (生きる)' in 'Ikigai' originally leans closer to the meaning of 'everyday life' rather than the entire lifetime of 'Inseong (인생)' as we know it. It's not necessarily a concept tied to occupation; instead, it embodies a life philosophy of finding joy in the every day, appreciating small things, and living with gratitude (Various Worlds of Careers - Part 4, SIMPLESTEPS).

May all of us be able to live a happy life by appreciating the joy found in our daily lives. 🤗
