Our 2023 Porsche restoration journey starts now. The Porsche we selected this year is a 1988 Porsche 911 Slantnose commonly known as a “Flachbau” 930 Turbo. This 911 takes direct style cues from the 935 race cars with the iconic slanted fenders. The Slantnose factory option was rare, and a symbol of the domination in sports and endurance racing the 935 had at the time. We can’t wait to show you the vision we have for this build. 1974 Porsche Targa Restoration Challenge
Built to blaze trails. #PorscheRestorationChallenge22 Are you ready for that off-road Safari? Our uniquely built '74 911 Targa received a complete, ground-up restoration while also making sure to touch on Porsche's rich off-road racing history. By now, you may have seen the color we chose for this project, a zesty and vibrant, Lime (Birch) Green, cc 226. It's bold and daring with an energy to match the overall build. Moreover, we wanted it to not only be fun but functional as well. This Targa was built to be bigger, better and bolder with lifted suspension, a re-tuned 2.7L engine with larger cylinders and a set of upgraded camshafts to increase air and fuel delivery. We have been so proud of the work on this Targa and it shows. But what color? That seems to always be the question when a complete, ground-up restoration is coming together. When we decided to build an off-road Targa, our wild ideas for its functionality had to be expressed through its paint package. Most notably, it had to be visually stunning and attention-grabbing all while staying in tune with the Porsche heritage. However, we hate sticking to rules and regulations. We want our builds to break ground, not tread on the same beaten path.
