post-faded SF music video for the track the Way Through. dark instrumental piece, sort of a dystopian future soundtrack...? think NIN with some slowdive ambient guitars mixed in. sorta.
was originally just making a 30 second snippet video, using some stuff filmed down at Ft Ord that never made it into a faded or front line assembly video... but i kept finding more cool clips i could use, and it sort of snowballed.
we had hours of stuff we filmed, but i wanted to just use shots filmed using a tripod, or that i filmed on my own.
anyway, it's apparently a little spooky, or ominous... so i hear. this gives you a taste of what it was like to explore down at the base. most of these locations have been torn down since.
this shortened version, and the longer orginal mix are up as free downloads on bandcamp- please help yourself! :-)

Just got a memory notification observing the passing of Ray Bradbury in 2012...
I was just talking to somebody about his books and stories and was reminded that I composed a song after reading one of them for the 10th time.
You can probably guess which one.

recent upload to the youtube page...
solo improv track a la red house painters/neil halstead
today is (live) - jeremy true this is a live improv track- i had the first line of the song in my head, and had played the first couple chords, and decided to mess around with some ideas....
dark winter sounds?
this is a surreal tune i bashed out- a soundtrack to the end credits of a dream i may have soon. it's on bandcamp as part of the free "Another Side" instrumental music 'album' i put up a year ago and have been expanding every now and then. some guitars, some synth type stuff and beats and rad stuff. :-) crank it up on some speakers with at least a little bass! :-)
Happy holidays?
the path through, by jeremy true from the album another side (instrumentals/electronic/ambient music)
A few new recordings by Jeremy from faded SF-
a few selections from late night improvisations, deemed worthy of posting- a couple acoustic and vocal tracks, and a short ambient guitar piece, all written on the fly, so please excuse the imperfections!
late night ruminations, by jeremy true 3 track album
messing with old photos from a shoot at UCSC for one of christina's photo classes- turning them into video clips. :-) put it to music because ...why not? anyway, it looked neat.
and the whole song is here, if anyone is curious! https://fadedsf.bandcamp.com/track/west-for-h-p-l
music video for the song Saturn- filmed in various spots on the West Side of Santa Cruz, and Sutro Baths/Lands End in SF.
this is an instrumental track from way back in the day, released as a "single" in 2014 with a video on yootoob. this video has been cleaned up, and i added some other cool clips that i didn't use in the earlier version, because there was so much stuff we filmed.
we included this as part of the album "enough" released january 2021, after faded SF split.

Also goes without saying that it won't sound nearly as good on a cell phone......
Some guitar improvisation i recorded a month or so ago. Solo guitar with some fruity loop programmed beats. i was originally recording this, just in case i played anything cool to remember to work on later. it's kind of random, and like an extended bit of music from a film, and it's far from perfect. at one point i was going to rework the whole thing, and make it structured and add more stuff... maybe i will someday. but i grew to like it as it was. it was a good excuse to use a bunch of video recorded here and there as an accompaniment, it came out pretty nice. didn't spend 6 months on it like usual, just wanted to get it out there. :-) for fans of Michael Brook and Lanterna

was listening to the prechorus of the song "not enough" but mostly just the vocal tracks... so decided to make a short mix of that for fun and put it up, with a few random clips of moonrises from this year. :-)
the music video for our song "easy" from the album Broken Down, Breaking Down. https://fadedsf.bandcamp.com/track/easy
it's not easy...
late at night, i can pretend
it's the beginning and not the end
it's easier that way to find a way
to make it through the day
but it's not easy to do
to make myself believe it's true
anytime i feel like it's going somewhere
and just trying to find the words
to make myself believe it's true
filling up space, filling up time
have to get something to fill up my mind
but all these things are going around
and it's not easy
just to mention it, the album "enough" has a few extra tracks now, the 'single' version of Ascend, and a 2nd shorter mix of Rose, for those who aren't into longer atmospheric intros... ;-)
if you've previously picked up a copy of the album, drop a message, and i can send you the extra songs in an email at no charge. :-) https://fadedsf.bandcamp.com/track/rose-ii-single-mix
rose ii (single mix), by faded sf from the album enough (full album)
we always played the heck out of this song, since our song (and nephew) were born on the 4th of July- and been a fan of Galaxie 500 and Luna.
I had always wanted to film a live cover version sometime for the holiday, but never got around to it. on July 1st i decided i would make a really quick recording of it, and put it out in a couple days. I kinda hate putting out 'videos' that are just an image or slideshow, so i filmed some stuff for it.
i learned the song, and recorded everything in a day, then the next night after work filmed a few takes really fast and then started trying to edit it. this was when i found out that half the stuff i filmed was unusable. :-P and i didn't account for how slow my video editing software was. so i only managed to get a rough 60 second clip done in time. ah well!
anyways, here's the final cut, it's still really rough as i had learned all the parts really fast and recorded it an hour later lol. it does follow the live Luna version more than the Galaxie 500 original, in case anyone was upset that it didn't sound right to them. the whole feedback ending wasn't planned, but when i was recording the first take on guitars that's what happened, and i just went with it. ;-)
this wasn't a serious recording, just a little something for fun i never got to do back when the band was still together, and it seemed like it was time. :-)
at least it's ready for next year!!! :-D
