Uplifting art for creative sanctuaries

05/05/2024

It was a great time at the Bottle Jack Tasting room. Seven red dots by the end of the evening and I'm grateful people are connecting with the work.

I'm pleased that this piece - Creating a Space for the Divine Masculine - was purchased by a patron with a gigantic heart for auction in support of the Boys Club of America. This strikes me as perfect.

Thank you to Bottle Jack and everyone who came out for First Friday. ❤️

The Flowers and Pollinators show will be on my website and at the Bottle Jack in the Santa Cruz westside art and wine district throughout May.

Wishing everyone ✌️& ❤️

I'll be showing art from my Pollinator and Chalice series for First Friday Santa Cruz at the Bottle Jack Wine Tasting Room from 5 - 7. All are welcome and here's the event info.https://www.facebook.com/events/465636552472703

When I first saw this space I was super excited to see how it could be transformed with art and living plants. In a perfect world I would add a lot more art and a lot more plants. I had only two walls to work with. Here's the before and after.

This show celebrated mothers. My mother, my grandmothers, your mothers and grandmothers, and our Mother Earth. 🌸

Sending good thoughts your way.

Art manifests. Create good things.

Beyond a ceaseless exploration of color, texture, and medium, I view my art as a form of prayer during these pivotal times.

Drawing on both personal and universal symbolism, I embrace the childlike and innocent in my paintings. Vintage glass glitters, natural crystals and diamond glass create sparkle and iridescence to signify the miracle of life in our natural world.

My process was inspired by trip to Jerusalem and seeing the stunning cloisonné art throughout the ancient churches and temples. When I returned to the Bay Area, I studied enamel processes and set out to find a way to re-create the jeweled effects of fired enamel without a kiln.

It has been a 19-year process experimenting with glass glitters, crystal-infused polymers and gold leaf.
