Five Reasons It's Time For A Deep Tissue Massage If you work out several times a week, adding deep tissue massage to your regular routine (at least every two weeks) will make those workouts far more effective and help keep you pain and injury free. Transiton Santa Fe is now a certified NM Safe business!
Our goal is to continue to bring safe and healing massage practices to our community during this time with a focus on relief from stress, the importance of human connection and touch, as well as a variety of medical massage needs.
Apart from the normal daily attention to cleanliness and safety in my practice I’ve added some new features to my space with Covid safety in mind. Any public interaction right now holds a risk but my goal is to minimize that risk for my clients as much as possible.
I just received this lovely new “large room” air purifier today, hand sanitizer and masks are always provided if needed (masks are a requirement throughout the massage), there is a high quality no-touch thermometer for a temperature check at the beginning of your appointment (I check myself each day as well), the room will be saged for air purification between clients and beeswax candles can be lit if requested during massage time as studies have shown that they also provide air purification. Plants surround the office and provide their own natural air purification. Finally there is a fan that can be used to circulate air through our four big beautiful open windows on warm days. During warmer months these windows stay open but lightly covered for privacy during your massage. In the winter months we turn the air purifier up and it is placed near the client for the cleanest air possible. Most surfaces in this space are plastic or wood and all are sprayed down between clients with hospital-grade cleanser.
When I first named my business “Transition Santa Fe” I was focused on the large transitions that we all go through in life such as birth, death, and the important in-between moments that transition us toward growth and healthier ways of living. As a massage therapist my job is to be there as a guide while your body is on its healing journey and those transitional moments are so beautiful to witness.
Right after I opened times changed quickly and the world became a much scarier place. The time for transitioning my business had now come and the words “Transition Santa Fe” took on a new meaning.
There were many moments when I wondered if I should quit and find a new line of work but I quickly realized how important massage and body work were for me both mentally and physically, and though there is not a completely risk free massage during these times, there are so many people in need of the health benefits and stress relief that massage can bring right now.
So I wondered, how can I adapt to this new world?
I have spent the past few months researching safety protocols and techniques to make this beautiful way of healing as safe as possible.
First thing? Finding a wonderful new space with four large open windows and great airflow! I couldn’t be happier with this new work space and I can’t wait to share more of our safety protocols with you all in the future.
As of today, August 4th, 2020, Transition Santa Fe is now open. Call or text 505-919-9821 for appointments.
To protect the safety of our elders and our immune compromised community I have made the decision to close my business for the next two weeks. I am hopeful that we can reopen at the beginning of April.
Stay tuned as there will be some truly awesome sales as soon as I feel it is safe to begin massaging again.
I will miss working on clients so much, can’t wait to get back to work, but it is a good time for us all to tap into new activities, hobbies, and joys that we can find in our new lifestyles right now. I wish you all good health and happiness during this time. If anyone needs any emotional support or help in another way, please reach out to me. 💕🌿
