In 1967, I attended the San Diego County Fair. The orchid society had a large display of orchids. My only intro to orchids had been Cymbidium corsages for my dates. Now armed with my new SLR Pentax Spotamatic camera, I started photographing these orchids. One of them that I was intrigued by was a beautiful plant of Anguloa clowesii. My date to the fair was studying botany and explained that while it may look like a tulip it was an orchid. It would be two years before I would start to grow orchids. In the years that followed, I alwaysys wanted to grow an Anguloa clowesii. Finally, about 3 or 4 years ago, I found one of my wholesalers was offering them so I bought 6. Last year, after putting in a high pressure misting system, the Anguloas took off and the first has flowered with a second one to flower soon. The video shows the mobile lip inside the flower. The color on this particular plant is very pale compared to others that I have seen. Enjoy.
