This Saturday an amazing group of creative, light-hearted women will be gathering at Cafe Arts a recently opened coffee-shop in the Rosemary District.

If you are an art newbie (or looking to get back into your groove), don't miss this opportunity to connect with other like-minded individual's for ideas and inspiration. We are pretty casual and you don't have to show up exactly on time or stay til the end.

We usually sketch or do other light artwork. Sometimes I spend more time researching on my iPad than actual artwork- it's really up to you- no pressure.

This morning at the Art Swap Challenge! Wow, we all had so much fun even though we didn't get to chat as much as usual, we probably laughed twice as much! We did 3 rounds! I'm so grateful for everyone.

We had so much fun at being super creative this morning! Just experimenting, playing - we love our art but we aren’t so serious 😜😜😜 Next meeting: Sunday Feb. 18th !

I had fun making my abstract art while everyone else was busy getting creative with beads, shells and driftwood they found on the beach. We were especially lucky to have a ”bead angel” join us- she brought so many beautiful beads anybody could use (thanks, Rebecca!!).

You don't have to share, but it is fun to see what others are up to!

When you find your flow in art (and in life!!), the prefrontal cortex (the organizing / analytical part of the brain goes to sleep)… quieting down your inner critic… so for those of us who suffer bouts of anxiety- this is the most effective tool for healing… for me anyway.

To find your flow in art as well as in life- for me I actually focus on the “learning process”… or just throw all the rules away and go all out knowing there’s always another sheet of paper underneath… other tricks include thinking of art making as “doodling”….or exploring a simple concept… copying a picture while giving yourself permission to make it your own… making small drawings… tracing something in an ‘unrealistic color”…
..there are numerous ways to detach from the pressure of the outcome… although some people get “in flow” when they thrive on challenges (ultra realism for example )

… it really depends on your personality and mood… all that matters is that we enjoy art for art, life for life!

Art is a mirror... you pick up on the messages your spirit is communicating to you whether the artist intended it or not.
Yes, my art might be made in my image but it also is made in yours- if you are open to see it.
The intersection is win-win and is where we can both learn from each other. I’ll give you some wisdom and you give me some wisdom back...as you view my world, I can see into your world...and these worlds expand and that’s what happens when you look at my art....🌈
