Sooo this Saturday:
-8:30am Kitten Yoga
-11am Vinyasa All Levels Flow
Gotta keep it straight: “don’t meow at the yogis, don’t meow at the yogis, don’t meow at the yogis”🤞🏼😬
I went to visit some of our kitten yogis this morning, & they were all just waking up. Join us this Saturday 8:30-10am on site Humane Society for Greater Savannah for a gentle morning practice with the kittens currently up for adoption. $15 to attend, & everything goes to the fur kids. Don’t forget a mat or towel & water 🙏🏻😺🧘♂️
Sooooo, in this morning’s class:
-I forgot to start the music exactly on time😬,
-Left out part of the sequence & had to go back🤷🏻♂️😇
-Couldn’t read some of my handwriting for our intention on “Mind Body Connection”🧐
-AC didn’t come on when I wanted bc I can’t see it🥵😂
….I was kinda thinking that wasn’t the best I had.
⏭️Later this afternoon I got prob the sweetest and best review to date. Turns out a person I had a conversation with after class was visiting town for an emotionally moving, ongoing difficult situation in their life & really needed somewhere to escape/let go. We shared some laughs & a couple tears and a hug. They illustrated to me that despite those little things that no one even noticed, I had already done one of the most powerful things we can do. I SHOWED UP.
Show up with me Saturdays 11am for Vinyasa All Levels Flow .🙏🏻🤘🏼
“We must begin the Dharma Revolution in our own lives.”
-Sri Dharma Pravartaka Acharya
Kurt Vonnegut tells his wife he’s going out to buy an envelope:
“Oh, she says, well, you’re not a poor man. You know, why don’t you go online and buy a hundred envelopes and put them in the closet? And so I pretend not to hear her. And go out to get an envelope because I’m going to have a hell of a good time in the process of buying one envelope.
I meet a lot of people. And see some great looking babies. And a fire engine goes by. And I give them the thumbs up. And I’ll ask a woman what kind of dog that is. And, and I don’t know. The moral of the story is - we’re here on Earth to fart around.
And, of course, the computers will do us out of that. And what the computer people don’t realize, or they don’t care, is we’re dancing animals. You know, we love to move around. And it’s like we’re not supposed to dance at all anymore.”
Let’s all get up and move around a bit right now... or at least dance.
Both broods (2yr & 5yr) have emerged in the same year!! This is how it goes down & what you’re hearing at night. Beautiful little cicadas

Ceremonial sand mandala work done last week at the Telfair Academy by the monks of Deprung Loseling Monastery. They haven’t been back to Savannah since before the pandemic, and this was their first mandala creation here since 2018. I greatly appreciate being able to spend close to an hour of very meditative time watching them meticulously place and arrange grains of sand sometimes one by one to form this beautifully colored mandala🙏🏻💜🤘🏼

Saturday 11am, All Levels Vinyasa Flow,
This week’s intention: THE SPACE BETWEEN THE NOTES
Claude Debussy was an influential French composer who said “Music is the space between the notes.” Meaning the pauses or breaks in between each note give us a chance to more fully hear and experience each sound in the composition.
“Vinyasa” is a Sanskrit word meaning “to put/to place in a special way”. During a vinyasa yoga practice the thing we put/place is our bodies, & the special way is with our breath. We focus on the subtle movements and the breathing that happens in between each yoga posture. We use the breath in these spaces to help build the mind-body connection & to give us time in between postures to notice the smaller details. This allows us to deepen our yoga practice & see physical progress as well!
I love this comparison because it reminds me of life…how time flies by when we’re not paying attention. Perfect example is falling asleep on a car ride & waking up to find yourself already there…that’s because we didn’t notice the journey…because we weren’t AWARE.
Pausing to take time in between life’s big events & notice the little details of each day (even the mundane/benign) helps us to stay present & focused on the here & now, instead of lost inside our thoughts/minds. By doing this we are, in effect, slowing time to allow us to more fully experience life.
Wouldn’t want to wake up at the end of the “Big Ride” & think…”WOW, we’re already here!”😳💀🙏🏻🧘♀️
Hit up my favorite thrift store Humane Society for Greater Savannah Thrift Shop today while getting kitten yoga pics, & check out the haul! 7 things under $40 total!! & proceeds go to Humane Society for Greater Savannah. It’s located directly above the humane society & is always fully stocked with cool stuff 🐕🧘♂️🙏🏻🍂🪨 🌞📦
Instead of a resolution this year, I’m picking my drishti. A drishti is a point of focus that focuses the gaze in order to focus the mind. This offers a MEANS to developing a concentrated intention. It gives us the ability to cut through illusion & see things as they really are.
Your Saturday, 11/25 8:30am Kitten Yoga starting lineup! (They woke up early for these pics, so show them some love 😴🤣)

Yoga means Union, and we’re uniting with the kittens who are currently up for adoption to practice yoga & raise money for the Humane Society! $15 to join, and all money goes directly to caring for and homing all of animals at the shelter🙏🏻💜
This Saturday 11am,
All Levels Vinyasa Flow. This week’s intention: Changes.
A lunar eclipse is a very transformative display that will unfold for Savannah just after the Harvest Moonrise Saturday evening. Yoga yokes together the sun and the moon with Sun Salutations and Moon Salutations, 2 practices that mimic the qualities of their namesakes.
This weekend we will explore the Salutations and work towards our own changes, just in time

We’re loving the eclipse 🌞🌙 weather here Lake Jasper RV Village 🤣
Long term/short term residents: Saturdays 9am FREE private yoga, down at the dock🤙🏼
Cultivating “The Seer”??? Hmm 🤔
-By calming our minds, we can start to watch our thoughts happen. We don’t have a choice if we have thoughts or not…we don’t even have control over what thoughts we have (& they can be WEIRD🙃). What we do have is the ability to decide what to do with these thoughts as well as the emotions that come along with them.
-The next you find yourself overwhelmed
or angry
or frustrated
or panicked
or mind racing…
-Take just a second and notice that it is the thought is making you feel…that’s recognition/ first step.
-Maybe the time after you could try to hold off a little on that feeling the thought created…just realizing that it is all something the mind is processing. Just watch the short waves of the thought come then pass
-Then take a breath or two & just might notice a calmer feeling🤷🏻♂️🙏🏻🧘♂️🦧✌🏼
Wait a minute 👽🧐

Photobombing at its finest Kitten Yoga at the Humane Society Humane Society for Greater Savannah
Thank you 🙏🏻 Zachary Adams for donating/shipping 4 yoga mats to Kitten Yoga at the Humane Society. Honored to call you a friend & hope you can make the trip to Savannah sometime to join in.
“Yoga practice is, in part, about establishing and maintaining healthy, loving relationship with ourselves, with our families, with our communities, and with all living beings. One of the ethical principles of yoga is called “Seva” or “Service-Mindedness.
Seva means to live in a way that supports the wellbeing of others. To incorporate Seva into your yoga practice is to harvest the sense of wellbeing that you cultivate on your mat and to share it with others through compassionate and selfless action.”
💡 **Our practice often includes many first-timers who don’t own yoga mats…they’re there to support our cause & that is beautiful. If anyone has any unused yet still lovable mats in the corner, we could use a few more. Front desk at the humane society & they’ll get them to us🙏🏻
(🤣Kitten yogis used my mat + the kitchen sink mat once but it worked & ya do what ya gotta do right…Guerrilla Yoga style😂🙏🏻)
✌🏼Two real OG Guerrillas💜🙏🏻🧘♂️🦧
Biiiig thank you to Greg and Marilou from Lake Jasper RV Village for crossing the bridge from SC and surprising us this morning at Kitten Yoga at the Humane Society.
Lake Jasper has some amazing long term/short term residents, & these two wonderful people have been regulars this summer for the 9am private complimentary practice at the beautiful lakeside yoga studio/dock…now they’re Kitten Yoga vets too!

Yoga comes from a Sanskrit word meaning “to yoke”, or “to join” (Yoga means union), and this is a perfect example of yoga in real life.
