Robert Marks for Schertz
2023 Schertz City Council Candidate
Patricia Ann, Jose Gomez Still thinking about the great time I had with family this past weekend here in San Antonio, Texas. Can’t hardly wait until we make another memorable weekend.
Good evening, Schertz neighbors. I’m sending this post to announce that today as of 5pm, I became a candidate for 2023 City Council Place 3. I’m extremely motivated by having the chance ( again ) to represent our community. Having this opportunity to serve all of the City of Schertz is again very exciting. As I learned last year, y’all are more than worth myself selflessly serving by having our city values not just words but THE STANDARD. As we all know, you can’t make everyone happy but that doesn’t mean I can’t work hard, with other city leaders and residents to come close to it. Before I lost the 2022 City Mayor election, I had already planned to run again this year. But after I lost, the encouragement from my supporters and from Mayor Gutierrez and Mr. Edward’s supporters, motivated me even more to run again this year. These past 9 months have been extremely hard to wait to be able to run again but worth it. As I learned last year and what made it fun for me is that I am working to earn y’all’s trust and belief in me to folks that are not angry but passionate about our piece of TEXAS. So I look forward to seeing y’all and listening to your concerns and ideas. Thanks for your time and attention. LETS GOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Congratulations to Michelle Watson on her election as our new City Councilmember.
Hello again folks. Before I begin what I want to say, I want to tell all fellow Veterans and U.S. Military Service members, HAPPY VETERANS DAY and THANK Y’ALL FOR YOUR SERVICE to this Great Country of Ours. Now too the election. Seriously thank y’all so much. When I began my Campaign, no one ( besides my neighbors ) knew who I was. At this moment my total vote count is 2,625 votes. My reaction to that was “ I don’t even know 2,000 people. “ I also took on 2 opponents that have lived here in Schertz for decades with multiple years of being elected officials with multiple campaigns. But besides that it is because of y’all and thank y’all for the faith in me. Since election night I’ve been approached and called about I need to come back next year and run for City Council. And I am. I’ve had influential people in our community as well as influential people in the surrounding communities telling me to do this and some of them would like to help me with it. Not endorse me but help me. As well as saying that I need to be up there and that they believe I would do great things. The same exact thing has been said to me bye a lot of y’all ( my supporters ). Which means more to me. I am going to be signing up for every board and committee that I can to be apart of helping expose myself more. But more importantly, able to do things for y’all. I seriously can’t believe I got that many votes. To be honest I’m not going to pay any attention to anyone that says something like ” You got that many votes because your name was first on the ballot. “ or anything like that. The fact is, I worked hard, I really wanted this badly so I could represent all of y’all and I put myself out there ( which is not an easy thing to do ). So again I will be running for City Council for 2023. Which Place, that is TBA. And once again thank y’all so much for everything. That includes my opponent’s supporters. I really loved the challenge. I was a little disappointed because I did this to win. But in a way I did win because now I’m not an unknown. So I didn’t get down and/or depressed about it. Instead I’ve just started looking into the next task and/or challenge. I’m ready to go back to working towards getting things done for y’all in the community and I mean before the next election next year. I gave y’all my word that it’s what I would do and still mean it. Thanks again.
Robert Marks, Jr.
Hello again folks. Tomorrow is a big day and I can’t control my excitement. Again thank y’all so much for the support and/or challenge. This is a big moment in my life. Tomorrow morning I’ve been invited to Schertz Fire Station 1 to be in a Ride Along. Which is another reason for excitement with me tomorrow. But after my Ride Along, I’ll be making some appearances at a few voting sites. Ending in Northcliffe. Then heading to the Election get together at Blue Bonnet Palace. I will send out a message when I’m heading to a voting site. Please feel free to visit with me and/or ask questions or bring anything to my attention. Regardless of tomorrow nights outcome I will continue to serve Schertz residents. I have had the privilege of making relationships in the City where I’ve been able to find out details to stuff. As well as finding out which departments residents can go to look into or fix issues that are going on through out the community and will gladly let anyone know where they can start to resolve the problem. Again thank y’all for all the support and hospitality I’ve received. Take care and I can’t wait to serve all of y’all.

My daughter wants me to take her to the Pickrell Park but the only free day I have is Thursday after door knocking. So I already have a date with my daughter Zoey at Pickrell Park. We will be at the basketball court Thursday October 20th between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm. As always if you see me, y’all are more than welcome to approach myself and ask me questions and concerns. Hope to see y’all and have a great night.
Tonight was a great meet the candidates event.
Thank you to everyone who showed up and I appreciate support.
Unfortunately, I am angry with myself for not intervening for the first resident that stepped up to speak, as they were being cut off by the moderator for taking up too much time in asking their question while they were speaking and letting us know his concerns and ongoing issues in his neighborhood.
I will never let that happen again.
I would like to start something now where residents can call, message me, or meet in person with me to address concerns and issues they are currently facing. I will do my best to help resolve the issue in anyway I can. This would continue if I am elected.
Once again, thank you all for your support feedback and I will continue to work hard for all of you.

Good evening everyone. I wanted to say thank you to everyone who is following my page. I appreciate all of your support! I wanted to remind you all that the last day to register to vote is October 11th.
Also, National night out is this Tuesday, October 4th. If your neighborhood will be having an event please let me know and I would be happy to show up and meet with all of you.
I am not use to posting a lot on social media but I understand this is the way most of us prefer to communicate with each other. Please let me know how I can be of assistance now, or if you have any issue going on that you do not feel are being addressed, I am happy to help.
I recommend all of you to follow the city of Schertz government page and to be aware of what proposals are being voted on for the city.
Some may or may not affect you directly but I believe it is important to be aware and if you oppose or approve of anything to stand up and speak for or against it.
You may feel your voice doesn’t matter but it does!
I encourage all of you to watch the council meeting that was held on September 27th and it is available to view on YouTube. I have never seen a community untie against a proposal for a development in their area as they did.
Thank you again for your support. Also, if you would like to put one of my yard signs in front of your home, please message me and I will personally bring it to you.

Some of us chose to live off 1518 due to the rural feel of the area but it is still accessible to amenities. The more communities that are being built are driving our local farmland owners out and giving the opportunity for more builders to come to build in our area.
I do hate seeing the local farmland owners leave but I would prefer residential communities and businesses be built, but instead there is a proposal to build a 300 unit- apartment complex that will be affordable workforce housing.
I do oppose this community being built because apartments start off great and then If not maintained properly like anything can become an issue for the surrounding area.
I posted a news article that explains why the council is wanting this to be built. There was also a Schertz planning and zoning meeting held on September 14th that you can find on YouTube, that goes into greater detail as to what the complex will offer. I also attached the link to the notice of public hearing where you can view the maps and plans for the apartments.
If you are concerned and would like to voice your opinion they will be voting on this ordinance on October 11th. I would like to hear your thoughts as well. Please message me any concerns.
