We would like to introduce our newest members of the MFAS roster! ✨ Chris Bishop and Kate Hall hail from South Jersey and Philadelphia. They began working together in 2018 after meeting via a Craigslist ad and have been performing together and writing original music ever since. The name of their duo is “Love? said the Commander.” Chris and Kate both began their musical journey at a young age. Chris began playing the guitar at age 10 after being heavily inspired by the music of Led Zeppelin. Kate picked up her first violin at nine years old and never looked back. She is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. The duo performed their first MFAS program in early March at one of our senior facilities, The Tender, which is located in Mt. Laurel, NJ. They played a mix of songs for the group by artists including The Beatles,(video above) Louis Armstrong and Johnny Cash. They were able to connect with the group by sharing their love of songwriting as well as different musical influences that have helped shape them into the unique artists they are today. The group listened intently and even requested another tune by The Beatles. Chris and Kate were happy to honor the request and truly provided an intimate and one-of-a-kind experience for the facility. 🎼❤️ We are so happy to have them in the MFAS family! Chris and Kate are scheduled to provide an April program at another NJ facility. Details to follow. Check out their website for more info!
