Now through August 27th drop off cases of water at Illuminate Community Church to benefit those in our city living in the extreme Arizona heat. All water received will go to the Phoenix Rescue Mission’s annual water drive. Code Red

After a career-ending shoulder injury, Mark turned to alcohol. Alcohol led to ma*****na. Then pills. As the years passed, he managed to function — he had a wife and two young sons, and a job — but slowly, his addiction took more and more control.

Eventually, his marriage collapsed; his family fragmented. He found himself alone and looking for a way out.

Serve Week started last Saturday, but it’s not too late to join in. We have openings still at Along Side Ministries, Habitat for Humanity, and Teen Challenge. Thank you for being our special guest yesterday. We always love having you. Scott’s story was a beautiful testimony of the Lord’s redeeming love. It was really special to get a glimpse into the friendship that forms between mentor and mentee as both Scott and AJ shared their stories. If you would like to become a mentor or get more involved at the House of Refuge in other ways, let me know.

The Transformations Program focuses on healing the total person. Clients participate in classwork, recovery meetings, work therapy, counseling, and career readiness - at no cost because of donor support.

If you are looking for something exciting and fulfilling to do, we need a couple of people to go with us to Alongside Ministries on August 26th at 5:45 pm for dinner and Bible Study at the men's campus. Alongside Ministries builds relationships with men and women while they are in prison, and then those relationships continue to grow and thrive when they are released. This could be a fun and easy way to explore and see what this ministry is all about. Message me for more details.
