Four hair trends I see coming in Spring/Summer 2024🪄

✨Brunettes with honey/golden highlights!

My brunettes have been loving the honey tones as of recent– it keeps their color rich and natural and avoids creating something that looks too light and contrasted.

✨Lived-in blondes/golds/beiges!

This one speaks for itself… The desire to go bright blonde all the way to the roots is just not something I see a lot of in my chair these days as my clients are opting for more natural and dimensional looks. Plus, it has been so fun to try out new golden and beige tones that gives every one of my clients a new and unique look.

✨More polished cuts for a healthier looking hair!

Healthy hair is in… PERIOD! Don’t be afraid to take just a little more length off than you’re used to achieve a more polished & healthy look.

✨Individual extensions to be able to wear fun/different hairstyles!

You guys knew I had to put something about extensions in here. I have transitioned several of my long-term extension clients to individual extensions already this year, specifically Keratin-Tip extensions! You can wear them in so many different styles— including a slicked back bun for when the summer temps roll around. The best part is, no one will even be able to tell you have extensions. They are seriously a game changer🥵

STRAIGHT VS. CURLED BALAYAGE✨

There are so many reasons why I love a good balayage on the right client… it’s lower maintenance and less damaging to the hair over time.

Now what about when it’s styled? ↓

Well in my opinion, the best balayage will look bomb whether it’s straight or curled. But make sure you address how your client styles their hair to determine if balayage is going to be the right technique for them.

If your client never curls their hair, but the hair in all of their inspo pics is curled, they may not be satisfied with the outcome.

If balayage is done correctly, styling it straight will give a more seamless look from roots to ends and the lighter color will overall look more subtle.

Balayage curled will look a lot more “poppy”— meaning you will see the depth and the bright pops throughout the hair a lot more.

This is our first time ever going lighter and I must say, I think I like this even more than the dark 🤫 my jaw was dropping as we were blow drying her!

I always emphasize this in my consultation with naturally dark haired clients that want to go lighter : YES we can add dimension but let’s pick a color that will compliment your complexion. The goal for this was to keep things looking seamless and natural. So in order to do so, I added a lot of balayage but toned it to a deep, warm honey.

I want to shed light on this situation… because you are not alone!

Whether you are in the beauty industry, creative industry, or something else, you have probably experienced slower weeks as of recent, and I promise there is no need for panic! It is not you, it is just the world we are in right now…

A lot of stylists have asked me recently– “What do I do with this unwanted free time?”

My best advice is this: Instead of using that energy to panic, be anxious, wonder why you aren’t busy… turn that energy into creating content.

✨Jump on TikTok and search for inspiration for your next video
✨Start educating others on what you are good at
✨Start connecting more with your community in your industry

CREATE CONTENT → DRIVE PEOPLE TO YOUR PAGE → GET EXPOSURE → GAIN NEW CLIENTELE → GET BUSIER!

Just because someone isn’t sitting in your chair, doesn’t mean there isn’t any work to be done. We will all experience slow weeks and we will all experience weeks where we feel like a chicken running around with it’s head cut off🐔🤣

Your success will be determined by how to change your perspective & take advantage of the free time you have to grow your business! 🫶🏻
