RTS was originally established in 2016 as mobile PTs, but our first physical location has been open just 6 months today! 2020 has been anything but predictable but we wouldn’t have been able to do it without our clients!

From professional athletes to weekend warriors to frequent desk sitting, mobility is something to practice daily or at least once a week to help prevent pain and optimize your physical health.

We see it frequently in the clinic where something small (slight low back discomfort or some neck discomfort) turns into something big. Working out your “kinks” on a regular basis will help decrease the frequency of this “kinks” turning into a dysfunction in the body.

Spinal manipulation is not only safe when performed by a medical professional, it is also a first line treatment for many dysfunctions. This being said, there are certainly contraindications that the medical provider must clear prior to treatment. Having an adverse effect from a spinal manipulation is low. While some individuals may have had soreness or less than ideal outcomes with manipulations, not all manipulation techniques are the same!

The risk of worsening a lumbar disc herniation is 1 in 3.7 million (Oliphant et al., 2002). A systemic review concluded no significant evidence linking serious adverse events with cervical manipulation (Carlesso et al., 2010). Also, there has been no evidence of increased risk with vertebrobasilar stroke with cervical manipulation (Cassidy et al., 2008).

Due to the neurophysiological effects of spinal manipulation, it has been shown to help decrease tone or trigger points in a muscle (tightness you may feel) and reduce or sometimes eliminate pain! Spinal manipulation of the cervical and thoracic spine has also been shown to have significantly better results when compared to none manipulation techniques with individuals with mechanics neck pain (Dunning et al., 2012)

Our Doctors is Physical Therapy utilize techniques taught by the Spinal Manipulation Institute, these techniques are not only effective but very comforting as the spine is not “cranked” to end ranges. Our outcomes are typically improved when combining other manual and physical medicine techniques such as dry needling or Mobilizations with Movement along with corrective exercises to prevent reoccurrence of the problem.
