In honor of Native American Day and Indigenous Peoples Day, here is a short video of Fire Rock Casino (near Gallup, New Mexico). The casino was named after the “beautiful sulfur rocks that illuminate with a burning flame,” it was the first of many gaming locations within the Navajo Nation. In 2009, we designed the dynamic projectors to illuminate the white surface of tent-like architecture. Several video looks were programmed and the most intriguing and apropos was the projection of moving fire… however, those viewing the casino from Interstate 40 were vocally concerned that the place was on fire! An iconic water feature for Arizona! This is the magnificent water feature that is the centerpiece of The Grand at Papago Park Center. The developer @lpccommercial literally “moved” the canal to run through the center of this multi-use complex. This stunning monument pays homage to the original Roosevelt Damn and includes some of the original stone. This water feature was designed by #wetdesign who also did the fountains at the Bellagio in Vegas built by @otlinc. We worked with GBtwo Landscape Architects on the inviting park and gathering spaces surrounding the water feature. Master plan for this project was by @kendledesign
