People often go to social media, radio, and TV to discuss how the problem with the American education system is that we use a one-size-fits-all approach to teaching and teach to the test rather than nurturing the natural talents of the student. At Life Literacy Education we decided that just talking about the problem isn't enough, we decided to take action and put together a curriculum that nurtures the students' talent rather than focusing on their grade or their ability to test well. The results have been fantastic with each cohort of our students showing increased hope for their future career aspirations.

Life Literacy Education started from a student expressing a need for a change. Our founder, Audie Wood, taught classes that covered topics incorporating the impact and root causes of poverty on a daily basis. One day an exasperated student said, ‘Professor Wood, we talk about these problems all the time, but when are we actually going to do something about them?’ He was actually stunned into silence because it was a really good question. That moment sparked a realization and a commitment to action.

Determined to transform discussions into tangible solutions, Mr. Wood founded Life Literacy Education to address these issues head-on. This organization was built on the belief that financial literacy, career planning, and life skills should be tangible in a format that supports all backgrounds. Today, Life Literacy Education continues to inspire change, equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities to make a lasting impact in their lives and communities.”

Throughout Life Literacy Education’s course, we take a holistic approach, comprehensively examining all aspects of a student’s life and then guide them to the best options catered for their passions and skills. By ensuring all factors are evaluated, we empower each student to achieve their fullest potential, providing personalized pathways that foster growth in a multitude of areas. Life Literacy Education was formed in the classroom by former Sociology instructor, Audie Wood. Without his insight, the curriculum that bridges financial knowledge and career planning with practical life skills would not exist. His vision was to create an educational experience that extends beyond traditional learning and prior financial literacy curriculums, addressing real-world issues and fostering problem-solving abilities in students. Mr. Wood's holistic approach has laid the foundation for a transformative system that empowers individuals to make meaningful contributions to society.

A successful non-profit doesn’t compete with other non-profits. They work with other non-profits to enhance the other’s programming.
