Secret Congee Seattle

Hello, we are super excited to have you guys come in and try our meticulously prepared Hainanese Chicken Rice. Our style is of mixed between Thai and Singaporean. After getting some inspirations from both Nong's in Portland and Boon Tong Kee's in Singapore, we want to showcase our own modification of this unique delicious dish.

The chicken is slowly poached for hours [plus a serving is like a pound of meat!]. The rice is uniquely cooked with many aromatics and in our own chicken stock. Each sauce [all 4 sauces included in an order plus a light broth] is made in house using the freshest ingredients. We are proud to say that this is our finest Hainanese Chicken Rice. Period! So, come try. WALK-UP ONLY.

We are working on creating another congee dish with an emphasis on French cooking technique and some unique Japanese ingredients. What would you guys do with duck and fresh wasabi from Izu?

Wishing you all a Happy Merry Christmas. Secret Congee will be closed from 12/21/22 to 12/29/22 and resume normal business hours on 12/30/22. We will take this time off to develop new interesting toppings for you guys to try. Stay tuned!

Hey everybody! Hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving weekend! As Fall comes to an end and Winter is right around the corner, it is now the perfect time for something warm and comforting.

Thank you so very much for all the continuous support throughout the years. From the beginning of the pandemic when Secret Congee started out as a little takeout window in Wallingford to now a small congee cafe in Ballard, you guys have given all of us here an opportunity to truly cook and serve what we love. Without your support, we would have been out of business by now.

So, thank you very very much for trying out our congee with an open mind. Thank you very very much for driving 30-40 minutes from the Eastside, and elsewhere, to get here at the westend of Ballard. Thank you very very much for giving us honest and truthful feedback, those are very valuable. Thank you very very much for your understanding when we messed up and you ended up waiting much longer than usual. Thank you very very much for being friendly and supportive to all of us here.

There are just many more thanks we can say although truly words alone just cannot describe fully how thankful and grateful we all are here at Secret Congee. So, as a way to truly thank you, we will, to the best of our abilities, keep on serving delicious congee and hopefully will add more selections for you and your family to enjoy. Their Tom Yum Congee truly warmed my heart with how delicious it was. Everything in my bowl was super fresh, and the broth was the perfect combo with their fried dough 🤤👌🏼 They have a variety of congee options on their menu, and the staff was also really nice!
