Kitchen towels on the loom!
484 strands of organic cotton waiting to be threaded for tea towels.
First piece off the loom in Portugal! This is adapted from a Scottish Tartan pattern into different colors and made with 💯alpaca. Now it needs wet finishing and trimming and it’ll be too warm to wear for a year!😖
It’s been a long time since I had a new project on the loom. Back to solid silk, no painted warps. These lovely iridescent colors are making my day.
Slinx votes the double width alpaca blanket stays here. She’s tiny but mighty, so I’ve agreed to make a second one so she can keep this one.
New project on the loom. I should have enough to make two shawls. However I’m contemplating making two panels to make a kimono with 🤔
Alpaca blankets queued up!
Studio Floof says it’s time for belly rubs NOW
Our Sapphire scarf is made from hand-painted Cotton and soft shimmery Tencel. Colors of Sand, Brown, Light Blue and Sea Blue take turns showing off in this beautiful painted warp. Paired with deep Sapphire blue in the weft, the colors are deep and rich and guaranteed to make a scene.
Our Adobe scarf is made from hand-painted Cotton and soft Hand Painted Tussah Silk. Deep desert colors of Brown, Orange, Turquoise and Terra Cotta are given flight by shades of Teal and Cayenne. So super soft and cozy - perfect for Desert nights.
Hand Painted Raspberry Sorbet scarf - live in the shop! Hand painted tencel and soft tussah silk make this beautiful jewel toned beauty. Shades of red, burgundy, gold, brown and wine.
Check out the Cloudy Beach Hand Painted scarf! Colors of Sand, Brown, Light Blue and Sea Blue take turns showing off in this beautiful painted warp. Soft and light and made for a windy Northern beach day. Made from hand-painted Cotton and soft shimmery Bambu (recycled wood pulp).
Hand Painted one-of-a-kind golden vibes live in the shop. This is the Golden Sunset hand painted tencel and bambu scarf in lovely hues of red, orange, burgundy, gold and brown. It's super light and shiny, and my new favorite of all the painted pieces. More hand-painted goodness will be dropping all week.
No filter because these colors gotta show off! in cotton with tussah silk with n the weft. The color pooling of this silk is pretty uniform so some stripes are coming up, but overall I’m loving the color combo. What do you think?
I'm basically not ever going to be over vintage inspired 70s color blocks. If you know, then you know. Made from untreated merino in the warp and Tussah silk and Bombyx silk in the weft, this is not your 70s polyester. Part of our Luxe Threads collection which is sourced from artisan hand-spun fine threads, lovingly produced in small quantities.
So maybe I made two of them! If you voted for Purple for the canvas weave scarf on my facebook or instagram poll last week, it was so close that I made one anyway :) Soft slub cotton in purple with oatmeal cotton in the weft. This thicker cotton is really durable, but still really soft. Plus, if you like shorter scarves, this is for you! Bonus, it's also part of the zero-waste collection. 10% goes to The Environmental Justice Foundation.
Back in stock! Our Blue Skies Gradient Scarf is part of our Luxe Threads collection - which is sourced from artisan hand-spun fine threads, lovingly produced in small quantities. 100% organic cotton, this scarf is super light and breathable. These sold out in 2 days and I'm trying hard not to keep one for myself. Grab 'em now :)
Hand twisting fringe on one of two 💯 silk wraps. I love the wave pattern in both of these color ways and can’t wait to share them when they’re wet finished.
I"m pretty sure this is one of my favorite things I've made in the last year. Bombyx Silk and untreated merino give this a super soft drape with a subtle shimmer. It's also part of our Luxe Threads Collection, which is sourced from artisan hand-spun fine threads, produced in small quantities.
New Zero-Waste scarf! Check out the Falling Leaves scarf in our shop. Untreated merino and silk in the warp and weft, and hand-spun novelty yarn from local artists as an accent. This scarf is light and warm, and definitely gets attention.
The Monte Cristo combed cotton scarf is back in stock! These sold out the first day they were listed. Super soft squooshy cotton will love you up for the winter. You won’t want to wear anything else 😂 check it out in the shop and while you’re there, check out the other new drops!
In love with this pattern. This isn’t a pattern I can mindlessly weave and binge watch shows however. This requires all of my adhd tunnel vision, which is to say it goes in bursts 😂
Project number two on the loom took over 2 hours of sampling to get the sett right. This is a crackle weave design from Ralph Griswold and most of the contrast yarn I have that I like the color agains this warp is significantly finer than the warp. Lesson learned, check colors and thickness before warping pretty novelty yarn 🙄
This is the longest treadling repeat I’ve ever woven to date. It is 104 steps, and it is turning out gorgeous on the loom. This silk is a delight to weave with. The photo doesn’t catch the shimmer. It’s alternating warp and weft floats and Fingers crossed the magic will be stronger after it is washed.
Thank goodness for the tribal knowledge of weaver communities. I only broke one thread on this super sticky wool mohair warp. Some awesome weavers looped me in on the secret of spray starch for my last alpaca blanket and today it saved my project!
What a year. Here’s to more kindness, better health and more time with loved ones (and of course MORE WEAVING) next year! Happy New Years friends.
More gorgeous fluffy combed Monte Cristo cotton in textural going on my - these scarves sold out my first day listing them in the shop, so I’m super excited to have more.
New project on the loom! This is a painted Tencel warp from yarns and bombyx silk. So much shine and softness!
It’s getting weird! I love the end of warps, and getting to experiment for my zero-waste collections. I never know what I’m going to do until the first planned projects are over and the remaining warp whispers. This is eco wash merino silk warp and weft novelty I picked up at a makers fair.
with a 2/2 twill and a center divide is a slow and fussy weave. Made especially slow by using 20/2 silk and zephyr for the project. I’m not sure how these two fibers will wash up, but 🤞 all this labor will pay off with a lovely cozy light texture.
