The Intricata love knot was inspired from an origin that goes far back in time. The design has been found in Celtic artwork (specifically the Serch Bythol),carved sculptures from the ancient Egyptians, and also ancient Greek jewelry.

In the 18th century, many sailors wore or carried love knots on them to remind themselves of their loved ones that waited for them at home. This was when love knots started to become a popular piece of jewelry. The sailors’ love knots, or "True Lover's Knots," were simply made out of rope or twine that they just tied themselves.
