Growing up, I didn't know the importance of taking care of my skin—my face, to be exact. I think it was because I didn't have any issues with it. I would just use my body wash, put some Vaseline on, and call it a day.

It wasn't until my late 20s that I started having skin issues with facial hair around my jawline, neckline, chin, and lip area. I also had horrible hyperpigmentation.

I decided to start laser hair removal treatments and also take care of my hyperpigmentation. I told myself to go all in and take it seriously, because this wasn't a cheap journey.

After my dermatologist told me the importance of having a great cleanser for my oily face, toner, moisturizer, and most importantly, sunscreen.

I was so ignorant when it came to sunscreen. I thought it was only for Caucasian people. I didn't know I was supposed to wear sunscreen every morning throughout the year.

Although we don't get much sun in Seattle, it's still important for me to wear sunscreen every morning. Plus, it tremendously helps with pigmentation.

I am so proud of how far I have come. For the past two years, I have committed to taking excellent care of my skin because Black skin does crack too.

For the rest of my body, I use Dove sensitive skin body wash. I swear by this body wash. I have sensitive skin and I am fragrance-free. Actually, a fun fact about me is that I don't wear any perfumes or use any products with fragrances.

I also try to avoid hugging people who have perfume or cologne on. I personally find it very toxic that people breathe in that much product. My friends and family know not to wear any perfume or cologne around me. In addition, being fragrance-free has tremendously helped me with my migraines.

I can go on and on about this. Lastly, I use Vaseline to moisturize the rest of my body. I have been using Vaseline since birth on my body and that will NEVER CHANGE.

I thought I would share my current morning skin care routine. These are the products I have been using for the past two years. Remember, everyone's skin is very different.
