Track News:: Congratulations to everyone who attended Junior Olympics this past weekend. There were a lot of good performances and personal bests to show for the effort.
Registration for Regionals opened today and closes on July 2nd. Please do not delay in registering for your events. The relays have been paid for by the club already.
If you are done competing for the summer, PLEASE RETURN YOUR JERSEY AND/OR SHORTS. Coach Matthew only got a few sets back at practice on Monday. He will be able to collect uniforms again at practice on Monday 7/1. Please return things washed.
For those who are done competing but wish to still practice you can practice, but coaches will structure the training routines for those who have events to compete in still.
If you are considering going to nationals and wonder what is required to be competitive, please look at past years results to know what time/distances fall into the top 16. If you have a mark in the top 16 for a previous national meet, that is a great position to be in coming into this year. Top 8 are considered all American finishers and will be recognized in a medal ceremony at nationals.
Have a great week!

Here is the Schedule of Events
Junior Olympics & more::
This weekend's meet is taking place over 3 days. The travel time to the stadium can be a lot longer than expected, especially on Friday. Please plan to arrive extra early. 90 mins or earlier.
Top 8 overall in each event will qualify to the regionals meet in Oregon. For many youth, this will be their last meet of the year. Please wash and return jerseys and shorts to practice on June 24th if your child does not qualify for regionals or if you do not intend to participate at regionals. Practice on June 24th will be a light practice , technical work , stretching, and to return gear.
Check in for running events is at the big tent in the middle of the field. There is also a warm up area on the infield. No parents or coaches allowed, so please remind your athlete to warn up on time and listen for check in.
Check in for field events is at the event. Jumps are in the main stadium, the throws are outside of the stadium.
A bib number is required to compete. Find a Rainier Beach coach to get yours. Coach Vic will likely hold onto the numbers.
