Groundhog day is here. Sherwood Brewing Company and Arctic Circle Brewing Company will be releasing a special collaboration beer that was brewed in honor of our friend Andy from Cap N Cork Homebrew & Brewing Company.

Double Smash Boom 💥 is an IPA made with all Michigan ingredients. It utilizes 2 malts and 2 hops for 2/2 and is named in honor of the way Andy would sign off his videos with a Boom. We miss you.

Can't wait for their release.

One of the great things about the brewing industry is the camaraderie between breweries and Brewers. Dave and Cory joined Joe and Rob from Tenacity Brewing in Flint to brew our very first collaboration, with help from our friends Motorcity Malthouse LLC.! First Tenacity came to Battle Alley to help brew our version of the beer and the following week our brewers went to Tenacity to do the same. What did they brew? Deja vu? Groundhog Day? Today takes us with Sherwood Brewing Company out to Arctic Circle Brewing Company to continue the collaboration.

Working with Arctic Circle Brewing Company to get a special one ready for the up coming holiday.

The past week and a half has challenged us, but the smell of roasting malt always brings a calming moment to the day.

Not just a Christmas cookie stout, but a Michigan Christmas cookie stout. While not 100% made with Motorcity malt, our oat malt was specially toasted for this beer as well as utilizing our roasted malt as one of the dark specialty malts.

Christmas Cookie Stout is Santa approved! This oatmeal stout is finished with a hint of cinnamon, ginger and vanilla.

You may not know but most of our specialty malts are made on demand. That of course promotes freshness but also requires multiple nights running the roaster.

Fresh Biscuit malt. Of all my malts, this is my favorite.
