Did you know that chiropractic can benefit you in any pregnancy trimester?
1st trimester- help prepare you back for the posture changes. Can help with headaches and morning sickness.
2nd trimester- helps regulate your nervous system, eases aches and pains (hello lightning crotch), and creates pelvic balance.
3rd trimester- aligns pelvis for labor, helps regulate nervous system for a natural labor (if thatās what you want), and can even shorten labor times!
The benefits can go on and on!
Of course these can over lap in different trimesters as wellāŗļø

Some things weāve helped moms with lately:
-oral ties before and after revision
-growth spurts
-colic
-fl**ge sizing and pumping output
This is a free community event we hold every Wednesday! It is at our office from 11-1. We have private rooms for nursing as well if you prefer that!

Damaged ni***es are the worst š
A few things that can cause damaged ni***es
-improper/ shallow latch
-wrong fl**ge size
-baby pulling off the ni**le incorrectly/ breaking the suction incorrectly
-oral ties
What can you do about it?!
It really depends on you and your life style! Every mom and baby situation is going to be different. First thing first is we need to get it to heal!
-hydrogel pads are amazing!
-ni**le cream that is non drying, youāll want to use this after feeds and during pump sessions.
-have baby evaluated for oral ties.
-have a LC check yours and babyās latch and positioning.
A great tip for when your ni***es are really hurting:
You can always put a hydrogel pad on your damaged ni**le and pump that side for 24 hrs. You would still want to empty often, and put another hydrogel pad on after your pump! This way your ni**le gets a break from nursing, youāre still emptying but it always your ni**le to heal!
If you have any questions or concerns reach out to an IBCLC to help with your ni**le damage or come to our breastfeeding support groups!

This can be a great source for moms that do have a low supply or donāt respond well to their pump.
Breastfeeding isnāt always an all or nothing event!
Combo feeding is when baby is getting breastmilk from mom, either from nursing or bottle and getting a substitute. The substitute could be donor milk or formula!
As long as your baby is fed and healthy then youāre doing the right thing!
For example: I was never a good pumper and never had a huge output but nursed just fine. Baby would exclusively breastfeed while I was home. While I was at work he would drink my milk from my previous pump session. Once he was out of that he would either have donor milk or formula!
Thereās so many different options for you and baby! Finding the right one for you and your family is key and different to everyone!
Did you know you donāt need a freezer full of milk?
As a first time mom I felt like my freezer stash was upsetting and unnatural. I would only have 4-6 bags at a time.
I felt defeated, until I realized itās an unrealistic expectation. But what if I told you that you donāt need that? If you have that then great, Iām so happy for you!
The best advice I got was when youāre at work/gone pump for the next time youāre gone. I would work my 12 hr shift and what I pumped during that shift would cover my next shift!
Some great ways to help you stash up?
-Have a haakaa on the opposite breast while baby nurses.
-Pump in the morning when you wake up.
-Pump every 2-3 hrs smile youāre gone
And try not to worry mama. Youāre doing great!
When your milk comes in is different for every mama. Sometimes it really depends on your birth.
Hereās a few ways to get it to come in and to help bring it up.
-LOTS of skin to skin with mama and baby. This will increase your oxytocin, which in turn will help your milk.
-Stimulation of the ni**le. This can be with baby or the pump!
-Latch baby often! Try not to watch the clock and latch baby whenever they are showing cues to feed.
-If youāve had IV fluids during labor those fluids have to leave your breasts before your milk comes in! Eating foods like celery, watermelon, cucumbers ect that can help you p*e out the extra fluids!
Iāve had a few moms say this at the office lately, so much so that I felt like it needed to be touched on.
Now yes, theyāre are actual times where supplementation may be needed (and that is totally ok!) There are actual reasons that a mother may have a low supply.
BUT there are a lot of mothers that are being told this where their supply is fine.
If youāve been told this and your worried your milk may not be enough thereās a couple things you can do to check! Because there is no harm in checking and getting reassurance. We defiantly want to make sure baby is getting fed!
-weighted feeds āļø this can check how much baby is actually transferring from you!
-wet and poopy diapers- how much output is baby making?
-get your latch accessed to make sure baby is able to transfer milk
-go to a breastfeeding support group or le leche league group (we have one every Wednesday at our office that is FREE.)
If you have any concerns always reach out to a Lactation Consultant or an IBCLC.

Our nursing journey is coming to an end. Around 21 months of nursing my sweet boy.
I never thought we would make it this far but I am forever thankful.
Heās going to be a big brother and my supply has tanked. Heās taken it so well but Iāve defiantly cried a few times that our bonding over nursing is going to end.
But Iāve documented our nursing journey with so many photos! And Iām so glad I will forever have these.
If you made it 4 hours, 4 days or 4 years be proud of yourself. Because any amount of time is an accomplishment!
Now to get ready for the second round with baby #2 šµāš«š¤š¼
