I know I am late posting this. I am very sorry for that. I got so much going on I forgot.
I am in a group of crafters that is local here in Shelbyville. We do a monthly quarter auction to raise money for local charities. This month it is for the VFW. It is going to be March 4th at the Stratton Center.
There are lots of talented vendors that are in our group. Many items to choose from. You can buy items from our booths as well as buy raffle tickets for big items, as well as join in our auction. Some items are hand made by us, some are items or coupons and gifts or gift cards from local businesses.
For those that don't know how a quarter auction works...
First you buy a numbered paddle. Then you see the item you like on our auction table and depending on the retail of that item, depends on how many quarters you use to bid on that item. Then if we draw your paddle number from the bucket, you get to take that item home. So you can get a $10 item for 25¢. You can get a $50 item for $1.00.
Quarters that are used to bid on items from vendors go to the vendors.
Proceeds from paddle money, quarters from donated items, money from raffle tickets and money raised from the snack bar are all donated to our charity of the month.
So please bring your quarters, or get some from us, and come out, have fun, and get you some cool stuff. All while getting to know some of your local artists and crafters.
There is a post on The Haps of Shelby County KY made by Heather Siegle. that shows some pictures from these crafters of things they make.
