Jenn Luke for School Committee
I am running for School Committee because I am passionate about our children getting their needs met.
As a social worker for 25 years, I bring an aspect of looking at the growing mental health needs of our kids and providing ways to address them.
Remember to Vote today! I am running for School committing because I am passionate about our schools and town! I have volunteered for over 10 years in some capacity in town. I started as president of the Shrewsbury child development committee and connected children and parents in town. I have been PTO president for the past six years and I am currently at Sherwood/Oak. I volunteered in my children’s classes for years when they were in elementary school and ran social skills classes. I have been a social worker for the past 25 years primarily working with children and families. I feel that my experience volunteering and my social work background makes me the perfect candidate for one of the School Committee seats. We are in a mental health pandemic. I can provide the expertise needed to help mitigate the significant challenges we are facing. So please vote for me today, May 3rd. Thank you so much for your support!!
So grateful for this endorsement from Christa Clark Duprey
May 3rd vote for Jenn Luke is a VOTE for Students
Dear Shrewsbury Voters,
Jenn Luke is a demonstrator leader with a focus on long term goals, listening to all voices for concerns and input as well as setting and exceeding goals. She fully understands the fiscal public school constraints and budget process along with the value that Shrewsbury is able to provide a high-quality education.
Jenn has had her finger on the pulse of the SPS School District for many years being a Coolidge School Council member to assist the specific improvement needs of Coolidge School. Also, Jenn has been PTO Coolidge President and currently Sherwood/Oak PTO President. This is a vital volunteer role to raise necessary funds not provided in the school department’s budget to assist in field trips, certain materials supplies, media center funds and more. Additionally, providing opportunities for social opportunities for the student bodies.
Jenn’s extensive 25 plus year social work background would assist the SPS School Committee’s Strategic Priorities especially but not limited to Leaning Environment’s where everyone’s success matters and Enhanced well-being for all. This is an important time with students emerging back to life as we know and Jenn’s professional social work expertise would be invaluable to help drive support for Shrewsbury’s students need during this critical time.
Lastly, Jenn is astutely aware of the fiscal constraints of today’s school’s budget. She knows this first hand since one of the major roles of the PTO is fundraising for needs that are not met in the school budget. She looks at the big picture of a program, additional resources and financial impact for all when tough decisions are made for all students, staff. And will of course the citizens of Shrewsbury.
Jenn has the experience of children’s mental and academic needs, educational funding, plus setting and reaching goals and expectations.
Join me in voting Jenn Luke for School Committee on Tuesday, May 3rd for support for all SPS students.
Calling all supporters. I need help with sign holding at the different precincts on Tuesday. I know it is during the week and people may be busy or working but if you can possibly spare an hour or two somewhere in the day I would be so grateful. I am hoping to have some sort of a victory celebration at some point in the next couple of weeks, should I be the winner!

Hi all my wonderful supporters. I was planning to stand in the center of town this Saturday morning maybe from about 9:30-12pm or so. I would love if people could join me and hold some signs. I plan to do the same the following weekend as well. Please let me know if you could be there and help support me! I appreciate it so much!!
With the election two weeks away I wanted to put some more information out there about who I am, why I am running for School Committee and what I hope to provide.
I have been in the field of mental health as a social worker 25 years. I knew I was going to be a social worker when I was in high school because I felt my mission was to protect children. I have continued with that mission throughout my career, as I have dedicated myself to working with children and families.
I have lived in Shrewsbury for 20 years and I have volunteered for about 12 of those years. One such role was president of the Shrewsbury child development committee. I took a flailing organization and made it into a thriving program that connected parents and children for the five years that I ran it.
I have two kids in the school system, a daughter in the 8th grade and a son in the 5th grade. I have been part of the PTO since my daughter started kindergarten in 2013. Then I was then President of the PTO at Coolidge for two years and I am currently the president at Sherwood/Oak, and have been in that role for the past four years.
I helped bring the girls on the run program to Shrewsbury which is still in existence to date. I have also been on many of the interview committees for several of the teachers and principals that has been hired in this district.
I feel that my expertise in the mental health field is so needed today! Our kids are in a mental health crisis. They do not have access to services, are feeling increasingly more depressed and anxious and the suicidal thoughts and rates have skyrocketed. I, along with someone else in the town, started a mental health roundtable discussion to try and help mitigate some of these challenges and I feel I can be the voice for mental health on the school committee.
Shrewsbury is providing due diligence to attempt to address some of these mental health challenges. I would love to advocate for more additional programs. I developed a social skills program that I taught voluntarily at Coolidge, as I volunteered in my children’s classroom every week for years. The teachers and I noticed a difference in the way the kids interacted, solved problems and increased their confidence. I would love to see something like this to start at a young age because that often sets the stage for how kids feel about themselves and communicate with others.
Further, everything that I have done in this community has been to bring people together. Most of the programs that I volunteer for and try and implement are things that foster togetherness. Our community is only as strong as the people in it. I would love to continue doing this as a member of the School Committee but whether I win or lose, I will continue to spread my kindness and do all I can for the town that I love so very much!!
There is just three weeks left until the election! I appreciate all your support! Would anyone be willing to show your support for me and some of the Shrewsbury pages? I have seen some support for the other candidates and I’ve gotten a little bit myself and I think that goes much further than me just posting things. Let me know if that is something you could do and I appreciate it!!
Hi everyone election is a little over 3 weeks away! I will be delivering signs late tomorrow and next week. Let me know, if you haven’t already, if you would like one. I would appreciate the support!!
Hey everyone my signs are finally coming in on Monday. Please let me know if you would be willing to put one on your lawn for me! The signs are popping up now and I definitely will need to get my name out there. Thank you all so much!
Happy Saturday! I am finally going to be setting up a designated bank account today. I am someone who has such a hard time asking for donations, but I also know that I am not equipped to fund this campaign on my own. I feel so strongly about my passion to be on the school committee, and want to make sure that I have a good chance as this is a very contested race! I will be accepting donations today so that I can order lawn signs within the next couple of days. My hope is to have them next week! I set up Pay Pal and the email is [email protected]
Thank you all so much for your support. It means more to me than you know!
Thank you all for your support. My page is growing and I’m so thankful. Our kids are going through a mental health crisis, and I feel this makes me an even better candidate for The position on school committee. Not only am I deeply invested in volunteering in our schools and community, but I can really provide a voice to assist in strategies to manage mental health. I have always been someone that determines the needs of a community and then I do my best to listen to what people want and meet those needs! I will do my best to do the same on the school committee! This is a contested race so any and all support is so very much appreciated! I should hopefully have signs within the next week or so, and I I can get my name out there even more!!
Thank you all so much for your support on this page! I am working on the paperwork so I can form a committee to then do a little fundraising so I can get some signs out there. I am so passionate about our schools and would love to provide the mental health perspective that I feel like is so needed today! I just helped to host an event tonight in Shrewsbury where we spoke about mental health and provided resources and such. And it was very well received and it shows how much mental health is affecting our kids today. So please get the word out about my run for school committee and I am hoping to gain lots of support! Thank you so much!
Hi everyone here is a video explaining why I am running for Shrewsbury school committee. Thank you so much for your support. Please feel free to share this!
Thank you all for joining my page and for the support! Next week I am going to put out a video about my passion for being on the school committee. I will say that so Shrewsbury schools have been near and dear to my heart and I feel that I would bring such a great perspective because of my background in social work. But look out for my video next week!
Thank you for joining my page. I am running for Shrewsbury School Committee because I am passionate about our schools and ensuring our students get their needs met. I have been PTO President for the past 6 years; 2 years at Coolidge and for the past 4 years at Sherwood/Oak. I have a 5th and an 8th grader in the Shrewsbury Schools and volunteered in their classrooms for years. My background as a social worker for the past 25 years also provides me the benefit of understanding the mental health challenges that our students are facing. I would like to take my school volunteer and social work passions and carry that forward to continue to make our school system thrive and with the mission of providing a high quality education to our students while working to make sure their mental health needs are met!
