What: A full day of FOOTBALL! All of our SAYFCO teams will be playing HOME games on the SHS football field!! We are working on the details, but plan to have some food trucks and a 50/50 raffle! We hope to see you there!!
Who: ALL SAYFCO FAMILIES, FANS, SHS football players, alumni....ALL INVITED!!!

Week 2 in the books! Congrats to our FLEX teams and Mighty Mites for bringing home big Wins!! Grade 4/5 and 6 teams didn't bring home the W but will use that to get ready for WEEK 3 games. The Mighty Mites were lucky enough to have the SAYFCO Cheer team for their game, too!! They will be cheering for all of our teams during a home game this season!! 🏈

🏈Teams for Grades 4/5 and 6 came up short with losses. They will use that to motivate them to work hard this week for their next game!

🏈Mighty Mites took home a big win! They are excited to be back on the practice field this week!

THANK YOU to all who came to the meat raffle yesterday afternoon!! It was such a fun time with our SAYFCO families and friends and a HUGE success for our organization!! 🙌🙌 Our athletes did a great job at selling 50/50 tickets!! Our winner took home $2,000!!!

Attention FOOTBALL and CHEER families!! This Wednesday, 7/24, we will be at Oak Middle School Field between 6-7:30pm collecting player packets!! Get them passed in BEFORE the season officially kicks off on July 29th!! An email was sent out to all registered families with a link to print off packet if needed.
**As a reminder: All NEW SAYFCO players must include a CERTIFIED birth certificate. These will be returned after the Jamboree.
**JUNE report cards are needed. If you did not print off before Powerschool shut down, please contact your school secretary ASAP to ask if they can print for your child.
**CURRENT physicals are required for ALL athletes!

IF you can not make it on June 24th, please be prepared to pass in packets during the first week of condition camp, beginning on JULY 29th!!!

At SAYFCO, player safety is our top priority. We collaborate with the Central Massachusetts Youth Football & Cheer Conference to stay at the cutting edge of safety practices based on the latest scientific research.

Understanding Injury Risk

While contact sports like football, lacrosse, and hockey have a higher risk of contact-related injuries, it's important to consider the specifics. Last year, football actually ranked in the middle for injuries per player among these sports.

Facts about Injuries in Youth Football

- Only 10% of youth football players sustain injuries that limit participation.
- The most common injuries are minor, with contusions (bruises) making up 35%.
- Less than 10% of youth players ever experience a concussion.

Youth Football Compared to Other Sports

You might be surprised to learn that youth football, for ages 5-15, has:

- 12% fewer injuries per player than organized soccer in the same age group.
- Significantly fewer injuries compared to collegiate and professional levels (less than one-fifth and one-ninth, respectively).
