I’m so honored to be hanging amongst all of these profound and accomplished artists at the Baldwin Avenue Gallery - The BAG.
This is going to be one hell of a party. 🐎🍸🎨
Reliquus: Latin for surviving; future. The Dark Horse was created during a time of darkness and despair for many. But rather than get lost in the shadows, he confronts it head on and emerges into the light.
After its completion, I knew it would need balance in a complimenting piece. The White Horse looks to the viewer’s right, towards the bright light of the future. She is a symbol of hope. Like the hero who rides in on a white horse when it seems like all is lost.
The darkness is not to be forgotten. It makes us stronger. Without the dark there can be no light.
Which one is your favorite?

(Currently Untitled) 🐎
I envisioned this painting as soon as I took the photo. I knew it had to be larger than my other pieces to properly capture the drama of the image. One of my favorites so far… and I’m now thinking a white horse on white background might compliment it nicely!
Major progress on the latest piece.
