πΏπ³ Attention all job seekers in the landscape industry! π³πΏ
We've recently received feedback from hiring managers about a concerning trend: candidates not dressing appropriately for interviews. ππ
While you might be eager to showcase your readiness to work in the field, it's crucial to remember that the interview is your chance to make a strong first impression on management. πΌπ₯
Here's our advice: Dress for the interview, not for the job! ππ
You don't need to show up in a full suit and tie or a formal dress, but it's essential to present yourself in a professional and polished manner. Opt for neat, well-fitting clothes that demonstrate your respect for the opportunity and your understanding of business etiquette. ππ
Remember, the way you dress communicates volumes about your attitude, attention to detail, and seriousness about the position. By putting your best foot forward, you'll set yourself apart from the competition and increase your chances of landing that dream job in the landscape industry. πΏβ¨
So, before you head out to your next interview, take a moment to review your attire and ensure that you're presenting yourself in the best possible light. Your future employer will take notice! ππ
DON'T GHOST YOUR RECRUITER!!!! Surprising failures to attend pre-arranged meetings however erode trust. That truly benefits no one, so proactive dialogue makes all the difference should needs shift.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Start the new year with a new career in the landscaping industry!
Submit your resume confidentially to [email protected]
Reminder to silence your cell phone when interviewing....or leave in the vehicle. Nothing is more distracting to a hiring authority.
It's the best time of the year!
Why should you let a recruiter negotiate salary for you?
Because they are in a better position to negotiate a higher rate than if you tried to do so yourself. Remember too, the higher the salary, the higher their fee is to the company. They're not going to short-change you...they have your best interest at heart while understanding the client's concerns or budgetary issues.
Why won't recruiters give the name of the company they are recruiting for?
Because...client companies prefer to keep their name confidential until an interview is arranged, just as you the candidate want your name held confidential. If you are concerned that it may be a company you wouldn't work for, be candid with the recruiter and tell them. A reputable recruiter will not submit your background without your permission.
Hiring authorities....know this. The salary expectations of a candidate may move after the interview...sometimes up, sometimes down. They are not lying to you...they are considering all the factors: distance, benefit costs, spouse discussion, level of responsibility of the job and more.
DO NOT LIE TO YOUR RECRUITER! It will only bite you in the end. Good recruiters will represent you with your best interest in mind. They lose trust in you when they find out you lied to them, including when you inflate your income.
Employers....if you're interested in a candidate, do not delay the hiring process. Otherwise, enthusiasm of the candidate will begin to wain and your management ability will be questioned. And, if you're utilizing a search firm, keep them updated and informed, otherwise, they will grow frustrated and will focus on other clients' needs.

What's important when working with a recruiter? TALK WITH THEM. On the phone, not just texting which is difficult to decipher. It's especially vital after interview or when negotiating offers. They won't bite....promise and have your best interest at heart.
We have current landscape management openings in Texas, New Jersey, Nevada and California !
We specialize in the landscape industry. If you are confidentially looking...we're the folks to talk with.
Leave the cell phone in the car before walking into an interview. It's annoying to the hiring authority when a candidate's phone is ringing or buzzing with a text. Makes for a bad first impression.
Eye contact or lack of it can make or break an interview. It shows how much self confidence you have.
May your day be touched by some Irish luck
Employers....when interviewing prospective candidates, share not only the facts about your company, but also what makes makes your company special and the sizzle of why people stay.
People....do not ghost your recruiter! Even if you're not interested in the opportunity they are presenting, you may need them in the future. Don't be afraid to talk to them.
EMPLOYERS..your new employee on-boarding process is vital. In addition to training them on your systems and procedures...show him/her the love. You want them happy they joined your company!
When applying for an outside field position, make sure your license has not expired!
Even with companies working remotely, many are hiring. The platform is different though: phone interviews, zoom interviews and tailgate meetings 6 feet apart with masks.
If you need to cancel an interview........call the company. Do not text and only email when absolutely necessary.
Be careful what you post on social media. Surveys show 90% of employers will look at your social media profiles and poor grammar, partying pics, illicit content or sensitive info about past employers will most likely get you rejected.
If you can't stand erect for a job that requires a lot of walking, either don't apply or get medical attention to correct the problem BEFORE you interview.
We wish you a very Merry Christmas and the Happiest of the Holiday Season!
Behave at the company holiday party. Everything you do or say WILL be held against you the next business day.
Do not over-talk on an interview. Let the interviewer lead the meeting and LISTEN! Give a detailed answer, but not over the top. Two people this week were passed upon because they talked too much.
Follow up your interviews with a professional and well written thank you email or letter. Proof it for spelling and grammatical errors, better yet have someone else proof it.
When you post your resume, it's a good idea to include your phone number on it. Seriously, if a company can't reach you by phone, they probably won't try to reach you at all.
