WWII Veterans in Normandy 2024
Here are several of the veterans I photographed in Normandy last month introducing themselves.

Almost five years into my Portraits of Honor journey and I decided it’s time to wear a hat with the brand. So, here it is! I had a small amount of these made for some specific friends, but if I get enough interest from others I’ll order another batch for selling. It’ll help me raise more money to reach veterans.

A very good man. An Airborne man. Saying farewell to Cliff Stump who passed away last night. I first met him in Dallas in 2021 just before we went with the Best Defense Foundation to Honolulu and the 80th anniversary of the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor. I was so excited to meet an 82nd Airborne veteran! He served with the 80th Airborne Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion, landing in Normandy on D-Day by glider, and fought in Holland, and Bastogne. He also traveled with us to Normandy last year, and traveled one last time to Normandy just a few weeks ago. Everyone just loved him! And will miss him. He turned 99 earlier this month. #AATW

It has been painfully obvious over the course of working on my Portraits of Honor project how urgent it is to reach these WWII veterans before they are all gone. Thankfully, I am not having to search for them. I have hundreds of emails from across the country and friends who have contacts that can keep me busy whenever I can travel. I will be traveling to the heartland of USA in a few weeks to meet and photograph veterans on my 3 year anniversary for Portraits of Honor.
