Check for added sugar. You want organic to avoid the pesticides. Avoid anything with added oils, gums or phosphates.

Today's topic : 𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙨𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙩𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙨
Are you an ingredient label reader? I am and have taught hundreds of my clients how to be too.
The biggest and MOST important thing to avoid.. processed sugar and artificial sugars!!
We all know sugar is bad for your health. It tastes really nice, but it has been linked to tooth decay, obesity, diabetes, heart disease, accelerated aging, IBS, depression, migraines, stroke, dementia, chrons, memory loss, liver damage and many other maladies. Some experts even say it’s just as addictive as cocaine😱
For decades, food scientists have been developing alternatives to sugar (artificial sweeteners). It mainly started in the1960s with the “fat free” craze. Many turned to sugary substances. Then when they found the detrimental effects of sugar, the zero- calorie artificial sweetener “sugar free” craze was born and has gotten sneakier and deceptive in their marketing techniques since. Most of these sugar substitutes are produced chemically. It’s FDA approved but Why ❓is beyond me, because the health issues related to them keep escalating every year.
The following compounds artificial sweeteners you’ll find in your labels:
Aspartame
Acesulfame potassium
Neotame
Saccharin
Sucralose
Advantame
Cyclamate
Fructose corn syrup
Alitame
Dextrose
Maltose
It’s expected to see these ingredients in sodas, teas, breakfast cereals, baked goods, and candies. But they also hide in less obvious places like...
Sugar-free chewing gum
Bread
Toothpaste and mouthwash
Natural fiber laxative pills
No-calorie or ‘lite’ beverages and soft drinks
Sports drinks
Meal replacement drinks
Salad dressings
Marinara sauce
Ketchup
Prepared or frozen meals
Yogurt
Coffee creamer
So my tip to you is start TODAY by cleaning out your pantry and fridge and freezer. Read the label and if you see any of the artificial ingredients I mentioned above- 𝘁𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝘁 ❗️
And when you do your grocery shopping spend an extra few min to glance at the label and avoid the artificial ingredients. It’s not just for your current health, but to aid your future health too 👍🏼

Curious about gluten and why the issue?
Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley, rye, and spelt. This protein is the gooey “glue” substance that binds it together.

That idea of “my grandma ate this way and lived until 90” doesn’t really work anymore because:
1. how we engineer and farm our food now
2. the lack of nutrients in our top soil
3. the decline in our gut health
4. the decline in our immune health

So now, we have the benefit of evaluating these things, studying gut health more than ever before, and moving forward to being a healthier version of ourselves.

GLUTEN SYMPTOMS:
Some of the more obvious gluten intolerant symptoms can be having diarrhea to having bloating or rancid gas to skin breakouts. While those are more blatant symptoms, less noticeable is that the immune system can also be suppressed from the inflammation gluten triggers.

Remember your food can be fuel or poison, it can add health, or it can take it away. Furthermore, food sensitivities and allergies don’t just affect the gut, but many other system in your body too. And gluten triggers an inflammatory response in your body which creates stress in your body which creates more issues, issues we tend to accept as “our normal” when it doesn’t have to be.

Now besides the gut issues, including bloating or stomach discomfort and muffin tops, where else can gluten intolerance/sensitivity show up? Well anywhere in the body really.
Including:
• Brain fog
• Acne
• Depression
• Anxiety
• Eczema
• joint pain
• ADD/ADHD
• weight gain
• Infertility
• and more…

WHAT TO DO (and it costs you nothing!)…. The recommendation becomes leaving gluten behind for at least a solid 30 days, and seeing how you feel.

Today’s topic is protein!!

Do you know how much protein you should be eating a day? If you are wanting to lose weight and improve your body composition then protein if 🔑!!
