Fort Courage Armory
We are THE gunshop without the attitude!
We are back in the store today. Come on down……
Sorry guys. I’m not quite ambulatory yet. We’re going to be closed one more day. We will try for tomorrow, the 17th
I took a bad fall in the bathtub on Saturday so I’m laid up for a bit. Consequently, we’re going to be closed tomorrow, October 15th. With any luck, we should be back open on Wednesday the 16th. Sorry for the last minute notice.
Fort Courage Armory will be closed tomorrow, October 4th for family business. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We will be open again on Tuesday, October 8th at our regular hours.
I’ve got a bit of a stomach bug so we’re going to stay home today. Sorry for the inconvenience. We “should” be open tomorrow at our usual hours.
Fort Courage Armory will be closed on Tuesday, July 23rd for Mary Beth’s birthday. We will be open again on Wednesday, July 24th at our usual hours.
A little bad news to start the day. We’re going to be closed today. My knee has blown up like a balloon and I’m not able to make it in to the store. Sorry for the inconvenience. We should be open again on Tuesday.
Just a quick FYI. We will be closed this Wednesday, April 24th for a little family business. We will be open Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at our regular hours. Just didn’t want anyone showing up on Wednesday and finding the door locked.
This is strange. I trceived this notice just this morning. So, I tried to post something to see if I had been suspended. Someone responded with a “like” so It looks like I haven’t. Head scratcher.
Just took in 8 (eight) fi****ms on consignment. Several ARs (CA-compliant of course), a lefty Savage Axis .308, a lefty Mossberg 500 and an unfired G***k 17. The G***k has a price tag lower than my wholesale cost. All are priced to move and they probably will go fast. Don’t miss out.
Just a reminder, Fort Courage Armory is closed today. We’ll be back tomorrow, regular hours.
Mark Romano, check out Shoehi’s swing mechanics. Pretty smooth, aren’t they?
Fort Courage Armory will be closed today, February 7th, due to illness. We should re-open tomorrow at our regular hours.
The 9th Circus strikes again. In a one-sentence ruling, they have put the permanent injunction on hold pending appeal. No explaination, no reason. So, effective tomorrow, we go back to registering your ammo purchases……dammit.
Here’s the “official” word from CA DOJ on ammunition. Until further notice, you can walk in, buy ammo and not suffer a background check. Also, you can order ammo online and have it sent to your home or get it out-of-state and bring it back with no legal ramifications. Go nuts!!!!
Saint Benitez strikes again!!!! Judge Benitez permanently enjoined enforcement of the ammo background checks AND the prohibition about receiving ammo to your homes. Any ammo we have at the store will no longer have to suffer the background checks. This can change at a moment’s notice, so don’t delay. Pick up your ammo ASAP.
Based on on "incident" last Friday evening, we are modifying one section of the Consignment Agreement that you sign when you give us your fi****ms to sell. It will read as follows:
I understand that if my firearm does not sell and I wish to take the firearm back, I must submit to a background check, mandatory 10-day waiting period and completely comply with CA firearm laws and regulations. Further, this re-registering my firearm back to myself will cost me the current DROS fee in effect. ________________________(initials)
You'd think that even after explaining it, we wouldn't have to be this specific. But...live and learn.
OK……SB2 is back on hold (thankfully). If you are a CCW holder, you can carry every place that you could last week. This fight isn’t over yet, but it’s a good start. I got this email from California Rifle and Pistol earlier.
We need to review the rules on consigning fi****ms. This is prompted by an incident that happened tonight at the store.
- If your fi****ms does not sell and you want it back, you are REQUIRED by CA law to register it back to yourself and submit to a background check.
- The above requirement means you will need all the same documentation as if you were purchasing it for the first time.
- If you decide you don’t want to go through the above process and try to just take your firearm and go home, you WILL be stopped. If you manage to get out of the store and “get away”, we WILL call the police and report your theft of a firearm. Remember, we already have your home address, driver’s license and phone number and theft of a firearm is a felony in CA.
If you’re reading this and wonder what happened, it’s like it sounds. Someone didn’t want to register their gun back. And after being told it was required, packed it up, tucked it under his arm…shot me an “F-YOU” look and started to walk out the door. We didn’t let that happen and he eventually did the required paperwork, but his hands were shaking he was in such a rage. And he blamed us for not telling him any of this.
If you’ve ever consigned a gun with us, you know you sign a Consignment Agreement that spells out everything. Including a paragraph (in big bold letters) saying you will have to register your gun back.
I thought we did a good job explaining this, but I guess some people just don’t listen. So, in the future, expect us to go into painfully extensive details about getting your gun back. It should avoid incidents like this in the future.
I apologize if this sounds like a rant, that wasn’t my intent.
The knee is still a little sore but feeling much better today. We will be open at our regular hours.
A little bad news to start the new year. I managed to bang up my knee to the point I can’t sit without a ton of pain. Consequently, we are going to be closed today so I can get a chance to heal up. Sorry for the inconvenience. We should…should…be open tomorrow at our regular hours.
Per CA SB2 being in effect as of today, this notice will be posted on the front door of the store:
Just a reminder, we’re taking today only off. We will be back in the store tomorrow at our regular hours. Hope you all had a great Christmas.
Just a quick reminder….. When you have a package sent to us, follow the tracking on it. Almost everyone provides tracking numbers for shipments. Even the US Post Office has a pretty decent tracking system. If your seller doesn’t provide a tracking number, call and ask for it. And if you get a seller that refuses to provide one, I strongly suggest using a different merchant in the future. We will both be much happier.
The reason for this is we get messages on a daily basis that say “please call me when my package arrives”. With the volume of packages we receive, this just isn’t possible. Most days there are only two of us at any given time at the store. So, two customers at the same time maxes us out. Also, calling to verify delivery of your package makes handling our in-store customers difficult. We kindly request that you refrain from doing this. It’s not that we don’t want to assist you, but the customer in front of us get our first priority. If you were that customer in front of us, wouldn’t you want our undivided attention?
With the holidays on us, package volumes rise accordingly. Understand this and we will all have a great holiday season.
With the recent additions to the CA Hansgun Roster, there are several new guns available to buy. It’s important to remember that the gun you buy online must be the EXACT one that appears on the Roster. Pictured is the new SIG P365 approved for CA sales. The “CA” highlighted at the end of the product code MUST be there for it to be legal to register here. SIG makes many different versions of the P365 and the only one approved for CA is this one. Make sure what you are ordering before you hit “buy it now”. We don’t want to be the ones to break the bad news to you when you come in to do your paperwork.
