I just soaked my Damascus in muriatic acid and neutralized it with Windex with ammonia and now the blade is turning black. What am I doing wrong?

There’s an anime called blue exorcist and in it a character that uses a katana cracked the blade, later they forged welded a special nail over the crack fixed it would that work for real?
