Happy Monday Movers!! When things get tough this week, whether it be a taxing workout, long hours at the office, or any other activity that generates stress, remember to BREATHE. We tend to hold our breath in times of stress when in reality we need to do the exact opposite. Holding your breath prevents oxygen from reaching your muscles and brain. When not enough oxygen is being delivered, muscles fatigue more quickly. Be conscious of this and make an effort to breathe when things get tough this week. Remember, the goal is to train/live smarter not harder. Happy Moving!
Are you training for short term gains or long term health? Major difference here. Unless you’re a high performance athlete, the goal of exercise should be long term health. You’re body should feel better after a week of training, not exhausted and defeated. Use exercise as a means to improve your body’s function, not limit it. Maybe you shouldn’t be squatting 300 lbs, maybe you shouldn’t be running 50+ miles per week. Then again, maybe your body is capable and you should. You’ll only know if you take the time to evaluate how your body reacts to each exercise, then plan and act accordingly. This is the secret to long-term health! And it’s also why we so strongly believe in developing a routine of daily mobility, strength, and soft tissue work. You’ve only got one body, better treat it with love and respect ✌🏼

RDL + Bent Over Row - a compound exercise to get your back shredded! Remember, with the RE-MOVE Power Bands you can duplicate nearly every exercise that you perform with a barbell or dumbbells. So even if you can’t get to the gym, you can still get a great workout in at home! Make sure to add this compound exercise to your training regime!
Is the location of your pain the actual cause of your symptoms? Is your back, hip or shoulder pain really the source of the problem? Or is it compensation/symptom of another issue that’s going on with your body. The human body is an integrated chain reaction. Every body part is designed in such a way that it’s function depends on the muscles, tendons, ligaments surrounding it. When one of the body regions loses function or range of motion, the body will naturally compensate for this. Thus, pain and symptoms will alot of the times manifest elsewhere due to these compensatory patterns. Remember to keep this in mind when attempting to diagnose your own injuries.

Release your tight mid back muscles with this soft tissue lacrosse ball strategy demonstrated by Dr. Wayne. You won’t believe the difference it makes in loosening up your mid back 💯 You can perform this strategy 1-2 per day. It’s a perfect warmup method prior to movement or exercise.

Utilize this lacrosse ball strategy demonstrated by Dr. Wayne to loosen up your shoulder. The quadrangular space (also known as the quadrilateral space) is an anatomic interval formed by the shaft of the humerus laterally, the long head of the triceps medially, the teres minor muscle superiorly, and the teres major muscle inferiorly. It gets tight and can be very tender to the touch. Utilizing a lacrosse ball helps to loosen up this area signficantly, which then allows more a cleaner range of motion.
