SFCS cadets presented the colors at the Sioux Falls Storm game at the Denny Premier Center on Saturday evening.
SFCS cadets participated in PT at last night's meeting. Quarterly PT testing was performed, during which cadets ran a mile and performed pushups and curlups. Cadets then participated in fun physical activities including an obstacle course.
Many members of Sioux Falls Composite Squadron along with members of Lincoln County Composite Squadron placed over 400 flags on veteran's graves at the Hills of Rest Cemetery on May 24th.
On Memorial Day, Civil Air Patrol honors and remembers the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We are forever grateful for their service and dedication to our nation.
At the May 9th meeting, C/SSgt Jude McGee taught a class on sound barriers, and then the cadets spent some time with their fellow element members.

C/A1C Okello, C/MSgt Giddings, C/A1C Barranco, and Aaron Giddings, Jr. along with 1st Lt Giddings demonstrated the core value of volunteer service as they assisted Sioux Falls during Tuesday's election.
Hey, we know that cadet! Low voter turnout or not, a team of our cadets helped move ballot boxes and assisted with other behind the scenes logistics tasks for Tuesday’s election.

Today’s post is dedicated to the outstanding staff of SFCS who work diligently to provide training, leadership, and resources for the squadron. Their work is essential to keep the squadron on its feet and effective in its missions. Whether line staff or support staff, in front of the class or behind the scenes, cadet or senior member, your service is much appreciated!
This past Thursday, members of SFCS joined members of other South Dakota CAP squadrons and wing staff during Legislative day at the capitol in Pierre.
SD Members Visit Legislature, meet elected officials Twenty-one members of South Dakota Wing were in Pierre Feb 8 for the wing’s annual Legislative Day. The annual event elevated the visibility of Civil Air Patrol among legislators and provides CAP cadets with insight into how government works.
At the February promotion ceremony, two milestone awards were presented.
C/Capt Ethan den Hoed received his Amelia Earhart award.
C/2d Lt Clover Naughton received her Billy Mitchell award.
Congratulations to them both!
This past Thursday, SFCS held the change of command ceremony for cadet commander.
C/2d Lt Clover Naughton is the incoming cadet commander. We congratulate her on her selection!
C/Capt Ethan den Hoed is the outgoing cadet commander. SFCS thanks him for his service during his term and wishes him well in his future endeavors!
