SCOTUS' decision is a relief, but the fight isn’t over.
ICYMI: The Supreme Court rejected a request to impose nationwide restrictions on mifepristone, a safe and effective medication used in most abortions. This decision is a relief, but the fight isn’t over. Anti-abortion politicians have already pledged to continue this legal attack on medication abortion and in an upcoming case, threats of jail time for doctors who provide emergency abortions to patients facing serious pregnancy complications.

Students: If you're protesting, know your rights.

South Dakota politicians are using trans youth as a political punching bags. (again) Earlier this week, Gov. Kristi Noem and Attorney General Marty Jackley criticized the U.S. Department of Education’s final rule that says schools cannot discriminate based on gender identity, transgender status or sexual orientation. Noem and Jackley said the final rule is a “dangerous dismantling” of the more than 50-year-old civil rights law. The final rule issued by the U.S. Department of Education makes it clear that Title IX covers harassment and discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity and sex stereotypes and that a transgender person cannot be prevented from participating in an educational program or activity consistent with their gender identity. This is little more than political grandstanding. If these two really cared about fairness they'd address the very real issues impacting women's sports. Read more at aclusd.org/press #SouthDakota
