The SU Alumni Slidell Chapter sent off their students in true SU style this past Saturday. The students, their families and Alumni enjoyed brunch and spirited conversations. Students were given monetary gifts and IPads donated by the Baham family: Dr. Eva, Les, Steven & April. Students were also taught the SU Fight song and I'm So Glad. Words of advice and encouragement were offered by Alumni. Thank you to the Scholarship Committee and the Retention & Recruitment Committee for a job well done. We wish the best to our students!!

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to the Southern University Alumni Slidell Chapter on receiving the Outstanding Chapter Award for 2023-24. Notable accomplishments of the chapter: Chapter membership increased, the amount of scholarships have increased, resources extended to our students in the form of stipends, social media platform highlighting Chapter members, SUccessful Denim & Gold Dance, SUpport to the Bowling & Football teams and the Human JukeBox. SUpport to the SUpport a Southernite Campaign for scholarships.
The chapter would like to thank the community SUpport of our D&G Dance. Without your SUpport we could not help the Southern students from Slidell, Lacombe and Pearl River.
Our students are SUpported attending any of the Southern Campuses.

Our Monday Member Honoree is Dana Torregano. We honored to have Dana in our chapter.

The SU Alumni Slidell Chapter is hosting it's Annual Denim & Gold Dance. The chapter provides scholarships to area high school students, stipends to upperclassmen, contributions to the football and bowling teams, and SUpport to the Human Jukebox. Your SUpport helps us SUpport Southern University.

Our Member Spotlight today is Mrs. Sheryl Cousin. We are honored to have Sheryl in our chapter.

We are most proud to see one of our own students graduate from the Southern University System. Today, on Welcome Wednesday we congratulate and welcome Ms. Samyria Adelle Mills. We are so proud of Samyria, and we welcome her to our chapter.

Congratulations to our chapter member, Aaliyah Strickland, SUSON recent graduate was awarded Rookie Nurse of the Year at SMH/Ochsner East. We are proud of you.

On this Member Monday, we would like to spotlight the accomplishments of our member Mr. Barry Robinson, our Member Honoree. We are honored to have Mr. Robinson in our chapter.

Today on this Member Monday we would like to spotlight or Member Honoree Mrs. Anita White Douglas. Anita serves her community in various capacities and SU is near and dear to her heart, we are honored to have her in the Slidell chapter.

The Southern University Alumni Slidell Chapter had the honor and privilege of hosting an SU Signing Day event. Six aspiring bright young people have committed to attending Southern University in the Fall. These young people and their families were given information necessary to begin their educational journey. They were greeted and welcomed into the Jaguar Nation by SU Alums from graduating classes of 1958 to as recent as 2023. Congratulations to these students, the Slidell Chapter looks forward to forging a mentor relationship with each of them.

Our Monday Member Honoree is Ms. Carmen Clay. We are so honored to have Ms. Clay in our chapter.

We are so honored to have our member Mary Francis Alfred in our chapter. We are grateful for all her wisdom.

The SU Alumni Slidell Chapter celebrated Founders Day at Hartzell Mt Zion United Methodist Church. The Chapter made a donation to the church's education program. Out new Head Coach, Coach Terrance Graves joined us for the celebration. After church the chapter enjoyed brunch at Northern Lites, it's always good for Southernites to fellowship. Happy 144th SU.

Our Monday Member Honoree is none other than our VP Veronica Lee Scott. Thank you Madam Vice President for all you do for our chapter.

Our Member Spotlight is Mrs. Sharon Doyle. We are so honored to have Sharon in our chapter.

Our Monday Member Spotlight is Kerry & Dorable Dangerfield. Both Jags are active in the Slidell community, and diligently serve in our chapter. We are so honored to have them.

Our Monday Member Honoree is Mrs. Betty Thomas. We are so pleased to recognize Mrs. Thomas on all her accomplishments in the community and in the chapter. We are so pleased to honor Ms. Betty, and congratulate her on all her community service.

Its Welcome Wednesday and we are pleased to welcome Mr. Lagressor Crawford to our chapter. We look forward to working with Mr. Crawford.

Our Monday Member Honoree is Mrs. Dorothy Emery. Mrs. Emery is an SU Alumni Federation life member. She was one of the honorees at our last chapter meeting. We are so appreciative of Mrs. Emery and her hard work in our chapter.
