Proud to have been elected a Secretary to the St Tammany Democrats. Can't wait to get back to work!

Many Democrats Are Worried Trump Will Beat Biden. This One Isn’t. 04/04/2024

This is exactly where I'm at. Everyone take a deep breath, and get ready to work:

Many Democrats Are Worried Trump Will Beat Biden. This One Isn’t. Simon Rosenberg has spent the past two years telling Democrats they need to calm down. His Biden-will-win prediction is his next big test.

A quiet economic revolution is shifting us from trickle-down to middle-out economics, empowering workers and the middle class. The results speak for themselves.

Congratulations to Collin Sims DA for his hard-fought win last night. And I can't wait to work with our new and DPEC folks to help make the Louisiana and St. Tammany Democratic Party a success!

Want to get more involved in your community? A great place to start is Leadership St. Tammany. I graduated in 2018 (best class ever!). Applications are open until April 30 for the class starting this fall.

I was at the LaCAN legislative roundtable this morning to talk about legislation to assist folks with disabilities and special needs. Sadly, no politicians out of five parishes came this year, and only two even sent staff to attend. I get that there's a special session right now, but this is also the time for our leaders to actually speak with the people they represent, and that's not happening.
Thank you Patrick McMath and Stephanie Hunter Berault for having people there to hear these incredible stories.

I hope you'll join me in voting for Collin Sims DA for district attorney. I just watched the East St. Tammany Business Alliance forum, and it was a clear choice.

Sims has been in government service so long, he trains the next generation. His office is underfunded, but so efficient it protects our community well within budget. Simply hearing him speak is to see a professional at work. Wynne's best idea for funding the office was investing in a larger bad checks division. Because of all those people writing checks... in 2024.

And remember that this race is also about two DAs who are not here anymore: Walter Reed and Warren Montgomery. Wynne has been Reed's heir apparent since Reed was sentenced for rampant corruption and mismanagement. When Wynne talks about the "previous administration's" achievements, he's talking about Reed. That political machine is alive and well, and has been pushing Wynne for years in order to get back in power. We don't need to go back to that mess and "St. Slammany."

For those Democrats out there, Colin is focused on the DAs office, not politics. He's a professional, not a politician, and you'll notice that as soon as you meet him. But that's what an office like the DA needs. Wynne, on the other hand, invoked Trump the very first question he was asked, praying he would win in November. On his second question Wynne said he was aligned with Jeff Landry "100%".

Please vote for Collin Sims for DA.

I am suspending my campaign for City Council, and will be withdrawing from the race. I am proud of the campaign we ran. We kept it about people, not politics, and I loved getting to talk to so many of my neighbors. We had big plans for Slidell, but the results show that people want to move in a different direction.

This has been a hard decision, but ultimately, we’re in good hands. I have known Nick for years and I know he will work hard for us and do a great job. I already spoke with him and congratulated him on a good campaign. And maybe we can save the state some money on managing another election.

But your job isn’t done. You still need to come out and vote on April 30 in favor of the District Attorney’s sales tax proposal. I hate another tax, and certainly another sales tax, but I hate more the idea of St. Tammany Parish defunding criminal justice at a time when crime is rising all around us.

So please get out and vote, and thank you all so much for your support.

Is everyone OK? Please stay inside until this has passed. There are reports of downed lines and trees in East St. Tammany. Our prayers to Orleans and St. Bernard.

Something completely different---

This is not a campaign email, but I wanted to share this with all of you. I am on the Board of Northshore Families Helping Families, a non-profit that provides resources and help to individuals with disabilities.

We are putting on a fun-run on March 26 (election day, I know), and we need volunteers. We’re looking for 5-10 volunteers to help with drinks and registration. The event is in Hammond from 7am-11am.

If you could help out, or know somebody who could, please get in touch with me and I’ll get you to our race coordinator.
