We love stories like this one from Allan Kimball: When I was six years old we lived a few blocks from Al's. On days when my father would be out of town and after my younger siblings went to bed, my mother would have me run up to Al's and get some french fries then she and I would share them while watching "You Bet Your Life" on TV. She always put malt vinegar on the fries, no ketchup. Still prefer them that way.
