Look and Learn will demonstrate a modern mid length cut by Berg juxtaposed by Kei’s classic barber cut with Japanese methodology.

Hands on with Berg will take a deep dive in foundational concepts of design and ex*****on of modern styles.

Tandem Cut Course:
Cut on a mannequin while following instructor Macklan Clendinin to deliver 5 styles of cuts - Butterfly, S**g, Blunt Bob, French Bob, and finally into Textured Bob. Minimum cutting experience 1-2 years behind the chair; able to keep up with pace of class.

Macklan's background includes cutting education from schools such as Paul Mitchell, Vidal Sassoon, Toni and Guy, Aveda, Allilon and training from artists such as Tim Hartley, Robert Cromeans, Jason Reyes, Kevin Luchman, D.J. Muldoon, Kurt Kueffner, Takashi, Julian Perlingiero, SR Education (Sally Rogerson).

When design mimics nature. The curve and width of dry cutting scissors have traditionally been referred to as bamboo leaf because of their general shape: wide in the body, sudden taper towards the tip. The extra steel provides sturdiness for the dry hair. The sudden taper at the tips creates a wider angle during the closing action, moving the hair out to create softer shapes. If sharpened incorrectly, it is easy to ruin said taper and the way the scissors close, which can cause hair folding.
