Here at Hopkins Dermatology, our providers are determined to inform their patients of all possible treatment options when it comes to a skin cancer diagnosis. We are the only practice in the NELA area that offers IG-SRT treatment.

IG-SRT, image-guided superficial radiotherapy, is a nonsurgical treatment that uses low levels of X-ray energy to kill the cancer cells & allow normal tissue to grow in its place. This treatment is used for squamous cell & basal cell carcinomas, which have a 99% cure rate with IG-SRT. IG-SRT allows us to offer a non-surgical, non-scarring, painless, cure to our eligible patients.

The patient pictured above had nodular basal cell carcinoma, also known as “BCC”, on the left cheek, & invasive, well differentiated squamous cell carcinoma, also known as “SCC” on the scalp. He completed systemic immunotherapy, 7 weeks of IG-SRT, and a six-week post IG-treatment ultrasound. After all treatments, there was no remanence of the disease!
