Another incredible Family Fun Day put on by World Relief Spokane! I am incredibly honored & grateful to be here capturing all this cross-cultural awesomeness! It was great to see volunteers from 3 churches including Valley Real Life.

This big brother and little sister both had wonderful personalities, thanks to their amazing parents.
Spending time with them and taking photographs was an absolute delight.

I am beyond excited to share I will be photographing at the Inland NW Breastfeeding Coalition event on August 22nd.
Thank you to Jane, LBCLC, for this opportunity. Her kindness, education, and support carried me through some of the darker days of postpartum, gave me the strength to keep breastfeeding my littles and helped make me the breastfeeding advocate I am today!

Today, I photographed a themed birthday party for three children of a lovely, big, extended family. Just seven months ago, I photographed the entire family during Christmas. All of the kids had grown so quickly!
Typically, I send out a questionnaire ahead of time to ensure I understand each client's specific needs. However, today, my only directive was to capture the moment – music to my ears! Engrossed in my work for two hours straight, I was able to immerse myself in what I love most and be true to myself.
Recently, I have witnessed some heartbreaking losses. In these difficult times, the first request from the grieving families is for photographs from anyone who knew them. Knowing about these tragedies motivates my heart to do my best.
Life is fleeting. I am thankful for the relationships I build and the opportunity to preserve these invaluable memories.

Lovely, loud, loyal families like these ones are why I keep going even when I get worn down.
A lot of people do not understand why photographers ask for what they do 💰when all they wanted is "a few photos".
Photography is my art and one of my greatest callings, and since 2015 I have spent countless hours learning how to improve.
Even when I did not have anything but clothes and belongings in garbage bags, I had my camera God gave me and He would speak to me through the photos He showed me how to take, even in- ESPECIALLY in- my most broken moments 💔.
Like other hardworking souls who do what they love for work, I pour blood, sweat, and tears into my work. When our time together is over, the work has just started for me. I often spend hours pouring over the details and making final touches, usually very early in the morning or late at night while my children are sleeping.
What I ask for 💰puts the value that I have given away, back into my future.
Some of you have been my cheerleaders for years. What you have given me is far more than I could ever ask for.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me and given me a way to improve and express myself, simply by telling others about me, liking, commenting, and viewing my photos (and often so much more!). I could not be where I am today without you.

I was so inspired by this wedding photographer on June 15th at Manito Park.

I am where I am today because people and organizations like you believed in me! 😍

I am who I am today because other people helped me. For that reason I'll never stop helping people.

We spent hours at Manito Park exploring the Rose Gardens, and the greenhouse, and finally wandered down to the duck pond; meanwhile, it rained in intervals.
My battery in my camera died, and we were wet and cold and getting ready to leave when our friend messaged that she'd arrived, so we stayed longer to share the joys of the ducks and turtles with her kids.
Suddenly a large, blue-gray feathered bird with a wide wingspan drifted down from the sky-- a Great Blue Heron! I was actually shaking with excitement! As a child, I remember my dad showing me one and saying how special and rare they are.
One last fun fact for this special Father's Day: the dad herons share all the incubation and feeding duties of babies!
This moment made me want to thank my dad especially for teaching me the names of birds and giving me an awareness of God's creation.
Thanks for sharing in my joy. I truly hope you had a fantastic weekend!

Learning photography is simply mastering the art of light play! Best advice I've ever received, still guiding my journey. The sun was hidden behind the clouds so I had two little photography assistants and one awesome dad helping capture this gorgeous mama and her lovely baby bump in the best light!

Getting ready for a photo shoot that got canceled and rescheduled to tonight! No matter how many times I do this, I still get extremely nervous before a shoot. In the same way that adrenaline makes me a better public speaker, my nervousness makes me a better photographer. I'm more attentive, extra communicative, and I go the extra mile! I get a heightened sense of awareness that allows me to capture even the most subtle moments and emotions (my FAVORITE)!

Well...

Yesterday I photographed the most amazing extended family of around 15 people and one beautiful, tired grad 🎓 at Manito in a beautiful secluded area. I prayed over this shoot more than usual. No matter how much practice or skill I may possess, I still get nervous over shoots. Today I got this text.
It means so much!

I remember the day I relocated to the West Central Neighborhood on April 27th, 2021 with a 9-year-old, a 2-year-old, and an 8-month-old.

I didn't choose to live there; we were relocating to Anna Ogden Hall, a program supporting women and children in long-term recovery. At the time, I had no idea what people meant by the term "West Central."

Every memory in this place stirs up different emotions; just strolling through the neighborhood brings tears to my eyes. I've spent countless hours walking with my double stroller, trying to lull my kids to sleep when I was too anxious to calm them in our room.

Neighbor Day, organized by WCCC last night, was a wonderful event that highlighted the compassionate and industrious people dedicated to enhancing safety and quality of life in our community.

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the entire West Central community. From Holmes Elementary and the West Central Community Center to Head Start, Spokane C.O.P.S, and the West Central Development Project, the list goes on. Not to mention Doyle’s, the Jolly Mart, Made with Love Bakery, and the Level Up program by Spark Central, as well as the wonderful Centennial Trail, and many more families, places, and businesses...
We do, indeed, love West Central, just like the shirts say.

Some days my greatest joy is my photography.
Some days it's how I channel my emotions without numbing myself.
Some days it's how I am a good steward of my finances.
And some days, it's how I throw away the rest of the box of cookies instead of eating them all.
God is the same every day, and I am so grateful for Him.

"Wow, you got the perfect moments.
I'm in disbelief. I keep looking at them over and over again. I don't get how you took the shots of them so in the moment".
Receiving this message really made everything worth it.
