Sliding shower door install today for a new build.

Quick storm door install this morning.

This is a repeat client whose rotted door jamb I fixed last month.

**adding this storm door will go a long way in protecting the jamb and entry door from the elements.

For those that are needing a new storm door give me a call. Also I’d recommend a Larson brand door. I’ve installed a lot of these and they seem to be the best quality.

Fixed another rotted out exterior lower door jamb. Client advised previous owner attempted to fix this issue prior to sale. Client was quoted over $10k for a new door.
Diagnosed exterior of door jamb was not properly sealed & storm door jamb also not mounted correctly, allowing water in, causing the rot. Also previous owner’s patch job was only held in with adhesive.

I replaced / filled the rotted wood, and mounted a new piece of brick trim, caulking it all. Sanded & painted to match. Reinstalled storm door jamb properly to create a good seal.

Added an outlet & hung a tv today. Also demo’d a bathroom closet so a stackable washer/dryer can be added. Will be back to trim it out when w/d is in.

**had to put outlet on wall a bit far from the mount due to tv being flush to wall, but having a “pocket” in it for it to be plugged in.

Another happy client with a new great storage solution!!
We installed these 3 ceiling racks along 1 side of garage. Dropped them at the max 40” from the ceiling for plenty of space to load them up.
Shelves are 4’x8’ and hold 600 lbs.

Clients have been very happy with these….give me a call if you’ve been wanting a better storage option in your garage.

Sometimes I assemble stuff:

Sometimes I paint…..Client had a bad mold issue on their bathroom ceiling (see 3rd pic). I advised them to buy dehumidifier & also train the kids to keep the exhaust fan on after they leave the bathroom.
- started this ceiling by cleaning it with a good mold remediation spray and light scrubbing / wipe down.
- then 2 coats of Kilz 3 Heavy Duty Sealer & Stain blocker. (I usually use oil based but my trusted paint lady at HD recommended this product & I was impressed). Let fully dry and no stains were showing through.
- finished with 2 coats of a quality “stain blocking” ceiling paint.

This week’s job — Small Bathroom Remodel is almost done.

This job actually started out with client asking “can you replace a toilet”. Then went to “I think there’s a leak”.
As demo started I uncovered a rotten subfloor, leaky water valves, and layers on layers of wallpaper and veneer paneling.

**note - this is not the stage to set vanity, toilet, and light but client had family staying there this weekend and needed a functional bathroom.

- Replaced door & changed swing to give more room
- removed linen closet inside bathroom.
- all new moisture/mold resistant drywall
- subfloor patch
- new toilet fl**ge
- all new water line valves
- vinyl tile flooring
- new shower walls
- new toilet, vanity, light
- new switches placed in 1 box & outlet

Still to come - paint & trim

Got these 2 exterior doors installed yesterday for a client just in time for winter. As you can see, their old doors weren’t doing much to keep the cold air out.
Make sure when you’re hiring someone to install exterior doors, they are properly sealing it up before putting your casing back up……or just hire me 😊

To all those hosting tomorrow - keep me in mind when one of those relatives you see once a year clogs your garbage disposal, or one of their kids puts a hole in the wall, clogs your toilet, or breaks a fixture.
I can fix it quick and keep your sanity in tact. 😉

Happy Thanksgiving

This job was a special one…..drove out to East Tennessee and laid the flooring (reclaimed wood) in a cabin my parents are building on their property. 3 different board widths & and all different lengths. Also had some great helpers along the way.

Just got done with a full repair of previous water damage in a guest bathroom. House only about 10 years old in very nice neighborhood. Client had undiagnosed leak causing the cheap MDF baseboard to mold and swell.
— I found the toilet tank to be cracked, and the fl**ge was installed below finished floor level. Builder even used 2 wax rings due to fl**ge being too low, which is a huge no no. Builder also didn’t use mold resistant drywall. Luckily client caught the leak relatively quick, and subfloor appeared to be in good shape.

Got this client fixed all up - mold resistant drywall hung, mud/taped/sanded, textured to match rest of room, and painted. Replaced all baseboard in bathroom with real wood base. Raised fl**ge to just above floor height, and installed new toilet, with fresh single wax ring, and new flexible water line.

Client was very pleased, and no more leaks!

Just installed these ceiling mounted storage racks today for a client.
They come in 4’x8’ sets, approx $140 on Amazon, and hold up to 600 pounds. This client had 3 purchased. They can adjust from 22” - 40” of drop from the ceiling. We matched the height of the garage door brackets for this install so client had proper clearance for their vehicles.
**shelves can also be mounted above garage doors, but you don’t get as much clearance to store oversized totes.

If you’d like a better storage solution for your garage so you can park your vehicles inside this winter, please give me a call at (417) 569-7074.

Client almost bought a whole new door. I was able to patch the area with fresh wood, and painted it right up to match. Also cleaned up other side of door jamb and gave it fresh paint.
*paint is still wet in pic but you get the idea.
This fix cost them way less than a new door.

**this occurs when you don’t have enough of an overhang or no storm door. The rain gets in and rots out the jamb. If not repaired soon you can end up with bigger problems.

🚨🚨🚨
Reminder: The next several nights will be below freezing — make sure your garden hoses are disconnected from your spigots on your house. If you have internal shutoff valves for those hose bibs, shut them off, and drain that line.
**this is also a great time to remember, or find for the first time, your water main shut off to your whole house. — if you notice a water leak, immediately turn off your water main valve, and call a pro.

If you, or someone you know, needs help with this type of winterization give me a call at (417) 569-7074 or message me.

Here’s this week’s job — Client wanted an updated Craftsman style look to 3 of their doors & large window.
— Headers are pine 1x4 stacked with 1x2s, glued & nailed prior to hanging.
— Casing is 1x4 pine
— window also got new sill & skirt to match.

Got to work on this 100+ year old house this week. Client had kitchen remodeled. Then hired someone to hang the 2 new doors. Jambs were about 7” wide, and guy just hung standard width jamb doors and called it a day.

Client called me to add casing & baseboards to kitchen/pantry/bathroom.

I had to re-do the previous work & built out the door jambs even with the wall thickness. After some filler, lots of sanding, and several coats of paint the new jambs now look like 1 solid piece. New casing, with corner rosettes to match rest of the kitchen, and baseboards throughout.

Client was very happy.

Just finished this trim & wall repair. Client is about to list their house for sale, but had water damage to the drywall & baseboard in their bathroom.

- replaced, caulked/painted the trim
- repaired/filled the damaged drywall, matched the wall texture, and painted to finish.

Call or text me at (417) 569-7074 if you have repairs/updates needed in your house.

My Handyman business will be on hold for the time being. It’s mostly my fault, but 3 of my Milwaukee pack out tool boxes, containing all of my tools, were stolen out of my garage last night.
**it was the perfect night for some sh****ad to be snooping around — my surv cam was down, my son left his big wheel at edge of garage, and when I closed it before bed it didn’t trip the sensor but door didn’t end up closing cause right at bottom it hit the big wheel. Of course I had already gone inside after hitting the button.

Here’s to hoping insurance comes through.

For those of you who scour Marketplace, I have mostly Dewalt & Ryobi cordless tools (newer models), and the tool boxes were the Milwaukee modular packout style, 1 with wheels. If someone finds my tools and I can get them back, I’d be giving a $ reward.

**note to the sh****ad who stole my tools — if you did this out of necessity to start your own business to help yourself provide for your family, please keep my tools.

Here’s another remodel of the Apts I’ve done. This one they needed a tenant in quick, so just opted for new flooring, baseboards, and bathroom.

12/23/2022

Apt remodel update - cabinets / countertops finally arrived and were set. Tile guy did an awesome job on the backsplash. And I finished the rest.

New tenant is very excited.
