Timber! Landscape Timbers pair well with straight line landscape beds. The wood brings a warm element to brick homes. This particular home has a significant grade change to the backyard. The Timbers start off at 4” above grade and end at 18” above grade over a span of 20’. The perennials added will produced flowers from spring to autumn!
Before and after on a 6’ Juniper install. All plantings are installed with a mix of compost, low dose fertilizer, and mycorrhizae culture to aid with transplant fatigue.

Mulch refresh on a landscape design finished last summer. It’s great to see tons of new growth on such a new landscape. 😊
Paver block tree rings are always tricky. This mature weeping cherry root structure was deep enough not to cause damage while re-leveling the paver blocks.
Everyone loves a good story: This was the former home of the 2023 New Baltimore Christmas tree which was donated by my customer. Left with a mess of stump ground material I was able to remove the remaining roots and debris, add fresh garden soil, rearrange/clean the rocks, plant perennials, and top with double ground black mulch. Grass seed to follow!
Boxwood shaping and few new replacement boxwoods today.
Some intricate pruning, landscape bed redefine, fertilization, fresh mulch. This property looks good now, but is absolutely stunning when the hydrangeas bloom.

Now is a great time to deadwood and corrective prune your weeping mulberry. Thinning now will help prevent mold and fungal issues in the upcoming months. Pruning now also allows you to locate and remove any major crossing limbs that may cause damage in the future. Make sure you are keeping the root flare exposed on your trees and shrubs to prevent rot and girdling roots. In this particular case approximately 6” of stone was moved away from the trunk of the tree (dark wet colored area).
Typically we have stumps ground out with a machine, but when landscape beds are filled with stone it can create hazardous conditions for the homeowner and equipment. The correct way to accomplish this job was hand tools and muscle!
Early Spring paver walkway to welcome in the 2024 landscape season!
A customer sent over a photo of their Lenten Rose (Helleborus) blooming. This species typically blooms in February-April in zone 6 (southeast Michigan) hardy perennial for your shade/filtered sun landscape. (Spent yellowing leaves are from last seasons growth. I recommend customers to keep all foliage until healthy growth in spring as this plant will stay green and not die back in mild winters.)
This smoke bush was due for its annual pruning.
Late season down spout diversion; this will help minimize the flooding in the backyard.
Customer had some debris left over from his summer projects and wanted to know if we could haul it away. No problem!
