Urge your Members of Congress to advance a Farm Bill that supports nutrition security and improved health for all, nutrition education, research, and a healthful and sustainable food system. The Senate version introduced by Sen. Stabenow (Michigan) protects these important issues. The House version of the Farm Bill, H.R. 8467 proposes eliminating future Thrifty Food Plan (TFP) benefit adjustments, requiring any updates to be “cost neutral”. It has been estimated that efforts to cut the Thrifty Food Plan will cut SNAP benefits by approximately $30 billion over the next decade despite alarming rates of hunger.
